| Gradiator X03-26-04, 02:01 PM | Hi everyone! I've got a player who wants to run a Gambit (X-Men) based character. But...we're a bit stuck for ideas. If you could help us out we would highly appreciate it. I guess all classes and prestige classes are allowed. I'll buy more books if I just *have* to...like I need alot of reasons.:D |

You could go into several of the PrCs available online in the Mind's Eye section of the wizards site. |

Off the top of my head, Remy's a Rogue character. He's an ex-thief, has mad skills, great agility and mostly fights with a staff and thrown weapons. Throw "Exotic Weapon proficiency: Shuriken" on a rogue, or multiclass with Monk, Fighter, or Swashbuckler. The combo will feel very "Gambit" like. To enhance the power aspect of the character, focus on Ranged Sneak Attacks...or look for spells/powers that emulate the kinetic energy charging. I think there's a "far punch" in the Psionics books. And of course there's always magic missile (2 missiles at 3rd, 3 at 5th, 4 at 7th, and 5 at 9th level of Sorceror)... Alternatively, the character could get magic missile as a spell-like ability. That would give them the aspect of Gambit without all the extra spells. And it's probably not worth more than one level or so. |
