| HiQKid03-23-06, 11:00 PM | Or; Return to me my kingdom and children! So, I've been working on my psion (telepath) thrallherd, and I'm having a bit of trouble. You see, I'm not sure of alingment, first off, as he does care about people and such, but he's also quite insane (or quite... special, see below) and he doesn't always think things out. He believes (or is, as up to the dm) he is a reincarnation of a long-dethroned overgod whose power was stolen by the other (phb) gods. His psionic powers are a mere shadow of his original abilities. He is, however, very good with talking to people, and may actually turn some to his cause. Infact, sometimes the idea will not leave thier heads, and they begin to believe that they are the reborn minds and spirits of important priests and priestessess of his from long ago. They seek him out and help him in his quest to regain godhood. These are his thralls and believers. I'm thinking of him having a very flamboyant, show-off nature (sweeping gestures, interesting voice [similiar to Zhang Jiao from dynasty warriors 4, if anyone knows it], wearing lots of gold and gems, bright clothes, etc). Always trying to impress people. But I'm not sure how to pull it off. Any help would be appreciated. |

Flip over to the god channel on your TV (I dont know the actual names of any of these channels so I just call them the god channel). Watch some of those guys do thier thing, that should give you some idea of what someone like that is like, at least when theyre talking to others. Lots of gesturing while he speaks, dresses very well, and is extremely theatric I think would be a good way to go. |

With insanity, the best way to judge alignment is to "pretend" the character's delusions are true, then look at the way he responds to his version of the world. You might read up on schizophrenia--it sounds a lot like the way you say your character behaves. Going to be a challenge, whatever you do--good luck. |

But as to outlook/alignment... He doesn't intend to do harm, and want's to make the world a better place, but he is prone to bouts of selfishness/egomania, so he doesn't always think ahead. Also, he doesn't even realise he has his thrallherd abilities. They are quite subtle, and he believes they just really believe in him. I think the whole thing'll be a challenge, in a good way, and I'll probably enjoy it very much. |
