At the moment, the basic outline of the story is that origionally he was training as a monk in a temple that sat above a small town. When the town was attacked by raiders, the monks rushed down to defend the towns folk. All the monks but the character were killed as were most of the towns folk, everyone who wasnt killed was enslaved. Seperated and sold to different merchants, traders and slavers, the character never saw any of the other survivors again. He found himself sold to a slaver who ran a galditorial ring, and he was forced to fight in matches against other slaves. When it was discovered that he had some fighting skill (he kept his monk-based fighting abilities a secret, instead fighting with a blade) he was given training in the art of warfare by his master. The character began training in a goodly aligned temple, but his life after that has caused him to loose faith and become jaded. He still seeks self improvment, but sees others as just a path to getting there. (He takes on an ideology of the Mercy Killers from the old Planescape game) Rule wise he will be a Lawfull Evil Human. Any thoughts or ideas on this character? Peace |

Porphyron. You know, the character who was training the Nameless One in the Fighter class? A talented fighter who took a vow of non-violence... But more related to your character, perhaps was he away when the raiders sacked the town and killed all the monks. Coming back, he found only an empty building, half-destroyed. He knew his training was incomplete, but searching in secret caches, he found a book describing the Way of his Order. At this point, he vowed to take revenge on those who destroyed his monastery (and became Lawful Evil). Searching to leave the town, he was ambushed by the raiders. Out of necessity, he lied and claimed to be a wandering fighter, otherwise it was sure death. The raiders enslaved him and sold him as a gladiator. During the day, he was trainned as a gladiator warrior, but during the night, he was studying the wisdom of his Order... |

Peace ps:my mind is constantly spinning when i think of the amount of effort im going to have to put into this character. Feat-wise he is going to be one hell of a chore, but i figure if im putting a lot of effort into half of the character, i might aswell put the same effort into the other half :P |
