| deFl007-31-07, 01:54 PM | So the concept is to be a scrawny human with a short temper who grew up training to be a monk. He was never big enough to make it monkdom and sets out on a quest to become big. His quest travels down the path of the druid. I'm looking to optimze the size of a human. The concept is to go: Monk 1, Druid 5, Master of many forms until I get large / huge creatures So this guy is goign to stick to humanoid forms like ogres and use a quarter staff, with monkey grip and shilleliegh, and the great and small feat in the complete champion. Thus so pumped up, he attacks with +1 size from ogre, +1 size from monkey grip, +1 size from great and small, and +2 size from shilleliegh. So each attack is 8D6 worth of damage plus you would be Str 21 from ogre, +2 for great and small, and you can always cast bears strength on yourself for a 25 S before you even start with magic items, and can have a higher S if you get into things like trolls, and giants. Is their any other feats that I should consider. Also, Am I correct in that these size bonuses stack???? |

A creature with the Monkey Grip feat can Wild Shape into a Large creature and then use a Huge creature's weapon, and Shillelagh does not stack with that. Great and Small does not, however, since you can only use it when you're in your natural form. You might consider the Sizing enchantment for your weapon so that you'll still be able to wield it in your natural form. As a Monk, you won't need armor, but you may want Wildling Clasps for your other gear so that you don't have to take it off, Wild Shape, and then put it back on. Of course, if you remain in Wild Shape constantly, this may not be a big issue. I can't think of any other feats that might help. If you stick with Master of Many Forms until level 6, you'll be able to Wild Shape into Huge giants (and at level 3, you get Monstrous Humanoids, which includes the War Troll and most Hags). If you stick with MoMF that long, you may as well take the seventh level so that you can get your new form's Extraordinary special qualities. Furthermore, even taking seven levels of MoMF and a level of Monk, you eventually gain access to one of the Druid's best combat buffs, Bite of the Werebear (although you don't gain access to the best one, Shapechange). If you have access to the Spell Compendium, I'd recommend looking at the Bite spells. You may also want to look at Spikes, although Brambles may not be worth the time it would take to cast. Anyway, I really like this guy's story. It'd be even funnier if he started as a Halfling or Gnome... Anyway, if you want more advice on feats and items (or even just verification of the advice I've given you), you should check the Character Optimization (http://boards1.wizards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=21) board, especially the MoMF Bible (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=639448). |
