| SupercrazyDM11-10-06, 02:37 PM | For my upcoming campaign one of the major NPC's is a ranger. However i do need help with how he became a ranger and ect.. He is NC and is an ally to the PC's for now. My description is a medium build person with green-blue eyes tormented by greif. (He had to watch his mentor die because of him) I don't know how to incoperate the guilt of his mentors death. Any help would be appreciated. |

Rather than have just do the obvious and make whatever killed his mentor a favored enemy, you could make Gilian terrified of them (heck, you could do both). If he's working with the PCs maybe he's the one who always volunteers to go first so as not to let others be put in harm's way...of course this might annoy your players especially if they already have a scouting class present. Something he could do is be the first to disengage an opponent to rush back and help an injured or hard pressed party member. Maybe he has a bit of a martyr's streak in him when it comes to those he considers friends. Perhaps he never asks others to put themselves in harm's way or will not allow a party member to go off alone. |

You should give him a battle cry. If his mentor's name was Bill then he should yell something like, "Here I come Bill!" as he runs into the fray. You could put a bit of a suicidal streak into him too. |
