| Levism8407-10-04, 01:14 AM | Ok, I am working on a character that is more or less a tortured soul sort of guy who throughout the course of his relatively short carrier has lost his right arm (as well as his family, close friends, some orphans he was looking after, blah blah blah). So anyway, I was wondering what some of the disadvantages would be to having only one arm? I know it won't affect his actual STR, Dex, or Con scores, but it might affect his effective STR or Dex scores for doing certain activities. Notes: - After the…"incident" he took up the Bastard Sword (Exotic Weapon Proficiency) so he could wield it with his one hand. - He has also damaged his hearing (he don’t hear so good) - He also enjoyed calligraphy before he lost the arm Specific Questions: - Can he cast a spell with his sword in his hand, or turn undead while holding his weapon if he has no way to hold a divine focus (The tortured God Phieran, from Exalted Deeds)? - Could he turn his weapon INTO a divine focus for Phieran? - Would he take penalties to social interactions if he were missing an arm? I was just wondering. I might also post some character concept ideas later, but I am still working out a lot of the main stuff. |

Hushed whispers, ignorance, staring, and outright abuse are all possible reactions from normal folk. While it shouldn't apply numerical penalties to anything, be aware that the initial opinions and reactions of others should be influenced by it. [/list=1] |
