One of my characters is a Chaotic Good Gnome Bard named Rynn "Jewel-Eyes" Nimblefoot.

He's an exelent performer and can "earn" gold and other valuables just by plucking or sometimes even cutting a few strings, be it a lute, a heart or a coin pouch.

While this is all fine and good, I want ways to better show the more miscievious side of Rynn. I'm asking for some good ides for some harmless practical fun.

For example, when a powerful magistrait commented on Rynn's height, Rynn snuck into his house in the middle of the night and poured honey into his hair, then went into his office and started writing false love letters to random people.

Let me hear some of your ideas for stuff like this.

Thats funny, the false love letters, lol.

Me, ide say he should use spells like... ghost sound and open/close to make noise while making things open and close and candles flicker. Ya know, scare'm till they dont want thier home anymore, think its haunted, then pay YOU to exorcise(sp?) their home (you are disguised as say... a cleric of pelor or something).

Use Sleight of Hand to give people things. Like rotten eggs, or raw meat, and send them to the guarddog house. :D

I have 2 additional treads looking for clever Rogue tricks in the character optimization area - http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=4611478&posted=1#post4611478 and the
classes and prestige classes area

I am having a hard time getting many creative ideas. Seems like everyone is so intent on min-maxing and exploiting that they either forgot how to use their creativity or they just don't want to share ideas. I will keep looking here and posting anything I find. So far the best I have seen is pick pocketing the wizard/sorcs of their spell components, combined with an area of silence item...about all they can do are hand gestures and I know one they will be shooting me hehe.

I am going to put the ideas I gather from your two post (that I have noticed out there also. Good luck!

By the way can we wrap up your other post in with this one so it's all in one place? Thanks! Here are some other usggestions I've received;
Taking up ventriloquism - the uses are endless in bars, town hall, even on a farm...convence the lowly farmer his pig can talk.
Taking up alkhemy - lots of options there as to the effects you can produce, or combine with slight of hand and make people believe you are something else, or someone else. (classic stick bomb is still a fun one...in town or even in a dongeon while traveling with your companions -keeps them on their toes)
Slight of hand - drink potions when people are not looking, using wands without people seeing...convence them your a mage/wiz/sorc.
Cooking food for the party, to show off your skills in herbalism - slip them some hallucinogens, or laxatives, this can e done descretely also by slipping it in their water. Speaking of water, the next time you are in an evil campaign setting, camp out a while and have your clerics bless all the water they can lol.

Pretending to tell fortunes - and then tell them they are about to inherit a fortune..then if they doubt you give them 100GP for the hell of it...hehe
Pickpocket everything you can from a bard and then give it all back to them...then pay him to write songs about you and sing them throughout the city...you can choose the type of background you want the bard to sing about...be a nobel from another land...be a wanted man...be a robin hood...the options are endless...then go to the parties you could benefit from the songs being sung about yourself ala "you must have heard of me!". Along with some influence, fast talking, bluff or any of the skills that make people believe you, you can do what you want much easier.

Creative ideas is what I like...being the bane of the DM's session, the trouble maker, the smartass, the one doing the things people will talk about in the future when saying "remember when..."

When it comes to practical jokes, sometimes the best joke you can use to throw people off is yourself.

Think max ranks in Perform (baffoonery) without the ability to stop acting: tell people you were a natural as a youth and have been doing the same show, non-stop, since you were 5. If they think you are an idiot, all of your common wisdom will seem like gems, and all your failing will go unnoticed. Likewise, all of your good or not so good deeds will appear as accident, pleasent surprises for the good ones, and explainable mistakes for the bad.

Oh, and just remember, you only have to shave one side of their head, otherwise they look silly. The ultimate indignity is forcing someone to shave the other side... you know... to balance it out. Whether it be facial hair, eyebrows, or even the hair on top of their head.
