Hey everyone, I have a Goliath Barbarian/Bear Warrior story I need help developing. His name is Illikan the Kinless, which he gave himself the new title due to being the only survivor from his tribe. Basically he was the best wrestler in his tribe, and you know went about all the regular tribal stuff for most of his life, then one day a great wizard (im kinda partial to the name Aravilar, maybe a elf or soemthing?), came and destroyed most of his tribe, he took back 4 slaves to be grunt work at his tower. He never treated them overly bad, and they were always allowed certain freedoms, but he was undoubtedly evil. One day while Illikan and an another Goliath were on guard duty at the tower, they felt the domination spells that had been holding them in the wizards service suddenly dissappear. They were unsure of what that meant exactly, they both decided to wait there to see if their other two friends would return from the trip, possibly they had killed the wizard and escaped? After waiting for more than a tenday they never returned, Illikan and the other both decided it was time to leave, but they were unsure of how to return to the Giant's Run Mountains (we play in FR), and so they made their way to the only road they knew of leading away from the wizards land, they took all the food they could carry, and a few baubles which they thought could get them something if needed, and left. On the way out (at this point they are somewhere west of Westgate, not really sure where to place the wizards tower at), they stayed along the roads and tried to stay out of trouble. As they neared a town, Reddansyr, they were beset by brigands, Illikan took a vicious cut to the ribs, and the other goliath had two arrows embedded in his stomach, they began to run. They reached the town but none there would help them, except the beggars. One turned out to be a fairly proficient healer, just down on his luck, and he helped heal them, and tried to help the other goliath, but just couldn't do anything further, and he died. For his help, Illikan gave him all his possessions, realizing that they meant nothing to him compared to what they could help these people. At this point he swore to always help the poorer people first, to forsake his material wants to ensure that the less fortunate had warm clothes, and possibly a roof over their head. He asked where the closest big town was where he could ask about his home, and the healer told him of Westgate. He continued on to Westgate and soon found it was a much more rough town than he had ever seen or heard of. Things that appaled him could be seen at night for coppers. But he had to stay here to find someone to help him learn of his tribe. Im not so sure where to go here, and i just generally need help making it all seem more in depth kind of. Hes a Goliath Barbarian/Bear Warrio/Reaping Mauler with Vow of Poverty. Any help at all will be greatly appreciated.
