First off want to say that I'm not really good when it comes to background stories. Some of the excerpts from this background are captured directly from the Races of Stones book.

Let me know what you think:

My character's name is Namiane Skymapper Avaelakumatha. My tribal name is "Skymapper", but everyone calls me Namy.

My mother Thuliana Skywatcher Avaelakumatha, a druid to the chieftain, gave birth to me in the Five Lakes Basin, a valley accessible only after a treacherous climb, in June some sixteen years ago. My father was killed in an avalanche several months before I was born. I have an older sister named Vatherni Swiftslayer Avaelakumatha who has yet to be married, but is an accomplished fighter.

I was a member of the Kathaal tribe that maintains a stationary camp for two to four weeks, then spends anywhere from a few days to two weeks traveling. At any given time, our tribe numbered between eighty and ninety goliaths. Akala is our oldest member, but he may be expelled from the tribe soon if he can't bare his own weight. Our annual loop takes us across nearly a thousand miles of rugged mountain terrain, so it wasn't an easy life. [Survival]

My mother taught me to be a farmer [Profession (Farmer)]. Several years of our migrations we were on the cusp of starvation, but we always pulled though because we retained stockpiles of food that we carry with us. Often I would stand watch over the goat herds, defending them from predators. However the mountains we typically traveled in seems to always be fogged over, thus I learned to sence danger by sound over the years. [Listen]

Akala, over the years, has learned many things, of which he taught me how to craft weapons using techniques he learned while with the dwarves when he was younger. However, he tought me how to make weapons out of natural materials like stone, rock and evergreens that are found abundant in mountains we travel in. These weapons are just as good as normal weapons, except these large weapons are equivalent to medium-sized weapons of their type. [Craft (Crude Weaponsmith)]

It is now May and our migration path takes us near an egress point to a cave complex ruled by the Brightdagger clan of dwarves. Several of my clanmates of my age <Daniel and Jay presumably>, joined Akala to visit the dwarves near the end of the month to trade meat and fish for weapons, armor, and other metal goods. Each year there I visited a young dwarf named, <insert Richard's dwarf's name>, who conviently was there visiting his extended relatives. However, this year is different. We are all now 16 years old and are all fealing a wanderlust creap into our bones. Several of my friends my age <Daniel and Jay presumably> left the tribe to become Heros and Adventurers that we've heard the younger dwarves speak to us about.

<insert plot/story line that you have Trevor, DM>
