| CrimsonWyvern04-08-07, 07:06 PM | Gorgi needs motivation to become a monk. Gorgi is Dragonkin, from Draconomicon, and if you read signiture, you will know that Gorgi will not tolerate civillian attacks, and likes to avoid unnecessary death when possible. Gorgi also needs backstory, because Gorgi just arrive with Dragonkin mercenary comrades recently and was kicked out because of accent. Gorgi has joined with Elven Half-(Red) Dragon, Wight with disguise, Half-Fiend CN Vampire Spawn, Paladin, LN Justice obsessed Knight, Hobgoblin Monk, and Undead-hating Kenkou Ranger. Gorgi has taken Improved Speed (for 60ft fly and 30ft land) and Improved Flight (for perfect maneuverability). Gorgi has around 22 Str, 20 Dex, 16 Con, 10 Int, 22 Wis, 12 Cha. |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose04-12-07, 01:55 AM | Gorgi has already taken to the path of perfection of body by learning to control himself better in flight. He would also likely consider a monk to be envyable for their self-sufficiency. He has been left behind in the past and now broods on the possability of finding himself alone again. He has no purpose of his own save the defence of the innocent so he has chosen a path that will allow him travel unarmed thus provoking no combat from those who would otherwise see his weapons and armor as a statement of challenge. Gorgi sounds perfect for a drunken master to me. He can that way spend most of his time with the salt-of-the-earth patrons of the taverns wherever he goes. |
| CrimsonWyvern04-13-07, 08:35 AM | Gorgi would like to thank you very much for assistance. However, party member has already decided to go Drunken Master, and he would likely not be so tolerant of another. In fact, he was angry that I was planning to go monk even. But Drunken Master does seem like a good class. Thank you again. |
| Terjon of the Blue Rose04-14-07, 12:34 AM | I, Terjon of the Blue Rose, am a sorcerer and while I admire monks would never choose such a path for myself. However if you choose to do so then I would point out that an addition of magic would help to sooth your draconic blood and as such tattooed monk might also be interesting. |
| CrimsonWyvern06-14-07, 08:27 PM | :bump: I have a backstory for Gorgi that was recently written up, and I would appreciate any comments on it so that I can refine it. He was born among a mercenary tribe, but at birth it was unknown to his fellow Dragonkin that Gorgi had a potential for greatness. Once Gorgi grew older, others noticed that not only was he very uncharismatic, a very uncommon trait for his species, but that for his heritage, he was not very strong. He was barely as strong as a human, and as charismatic as an orc as his peers would say. He only was of average intelligence, and there were many of his tribe who expected him to be left to die. To add to his troubles, Gorgi was a very compassionate child, and viewed many jobs that the elders went on as games. He was unable to attend, as his age restrained him, but he looked forward to the day that he would be able to join in the games. As mercenaries, his tribe took on many jobs that were highly unsavory, but Gorgi was blissfully unaware. Gorgi was lucky enough that he was blessed with a few traits that made him much more valuable to his clan, which is one of few reasons why he survived. He was very nimble and perceptive, and somewhat more hardy than his peers. He also was gifted with incredibly agility and aptitude at aerobatics, and would easily defeat his peers in any games wherein mobility granted an advantage. Years past, and Gorgi became more and more isolated from his tribe. Gorgi was finally taken on a mission to eradicate a small town, and for a while he thought it was similar to a game that he would play with his friends, and that any moment now the people would all get up and would laugh about it. He was somewhat suspicious when it was taking a very long time for anybody to get back up, and he was sent to a small house. In the house, an event happened that changed Gorgi’s life forever. He saw a young man desperately fighting against one of the mercenaries to protect an elderly couple who had fallen to the ground. Gorgi saw the fear in the old people’s eyes, and the desperation in the man’s eyes, and Gorgi finally realized what he had been doing. He looked at the blood on his hands, and at the blood-soaked sword of his tribe member, and for a moment was speechless. The young man was disarmed, and as the mercenary pulled back his sword for the final blow, Gorgi ran up to his once ally, and landed a quick slash across his back. The mercenary spun around but was unable to land a solid hit upon Gorgi. Gorgi threw his opponent into the wall, and tried to help the elderly couple and the young man to safety. However, after lending a helping claw to the couple, the good-natured Dragonkin was hit with a spear thrown from his father, who proceeded to tell his son that he would not mess up this job, and killed the house’s residents mercilessly. He then berated the injured Gorgi and sentenced him to slowly die a painful death for his actions, and before leaving with the rest of the mercenaries, killed the Dragonkin who had failed to kill the family. Gorgi believed that his father was right, that he would die because he was losing blood and didn’t know how to treat himself, and even if he survived, he would never amount to anything. However, as luck would have it, he was stumbled upon by another group of Dragonkin mercenaries who were hired to defend the town, as they were often hired to do, who had unfortunately arrive a bit too late. Gorgi lost consciousness right before he was discovered, and had a series of dreams. He started to dream about what he had done, and he thought not only of how many people’s lives were ended for no apparent reason. He then thought of how many people he had caused pain to by helping slaughter this village, and determined that he could not allow himself to do anything that horrible again. He finally awakened, and developed almost spontaneously an odd accent that was inexplicable to the other Dragonkin, who were more than happy to bolster their ranks with a new recruit. Gorgi became highly self disciplined, and at one time spent a week alone on a mountain, during which process he developed an odd quirk to occasionally refer to himself in the third person. After traveling a while, and meeting some potentially powerful allies in a town that was being attacked by an army of Drow, he was kicked out of his new mercenary group because they were fed up with him. He joined an odd group of adventurers, and helped repel the Drow invaders. He still travels now, and the small group is endeavoring to find a boat to cross the sea on. |
