Grizzeld the Kobold [Archive] - Wizards Community

06-01-06, 02:50 PM Grizzeld is a kobold rogue who lived as an outcast for most of his life

Grizzeld was born into a large Kobold mining village. He grew up with his brood mate Narssa. They grew up learning all about Kobold lifestyle. He learned how to mine, build traps and the like. He also learned that outsiders were not to be trusted and if they got past your traps, you should attack in a group to defend the village. He learned to fight from the village elder Dracmord who was a very skilled sorcerer and fighter. One day as Grizzeld was going back to his nest he saw Narssa being atttacked by a large kobold named Oboron. He was in a drunken rage and had her down on the groun she was bleeding in several areas. He attacked Oboron and eventually stabbed him in the heart. Unfortunately, Oboron was the villages leader's son and he ordered Grizzeld to be executed. He ran away and survived on the roads, occasionally coming back to spy on the village. He saw Narssa being excecuted and he ran off. He stayed in a depressive slump for days until a traveling band of "merchants" came along. He one day discovered that they were thieves after spying on them. He then went up to the group and asked if he could travel with them. He was presented to the leader Harwyn who said he could stay but he had to take a thief's oath and become a thief. Harwyn taught him all kinds of interesting things such as, pickpocketing, moving silently, hiding, and how to use a short sword (he was trained with a spear). One day he heard some of the other rogues talking and they had decided to kill him because he was a silver eyed kobold. He eventually learned that his eyes were a powerful ingredient in alchemist's potions and highly prized. So he set off saying goodbye to Harwyn and his other "friends" who looked misreble from the fact that he was leaving.

Now that was his backstory. I need help picking an alignment for him because I'm not sure if he should be LN or TN. Any ideas?

06-01-06, 03:04 PM I'd say Grizzeld is probably not lawful. He fled from the authorities and abandoned his tribe, and learned pickpocketing. Thieves are generally not lawful. I'd go with TN.

06-01-06, 03:16 PM yeah thats what i was thinking but he took that oath i thought that might make him lawful, also now he wants to get revenge on his village for killing his brood mate
