Hi there, I have an NPC Human Ranger, Neutral Good, Male. He is an uncharismatic bandit hunter but has joined up with some PCs so that he can have some help in fighting the bandits, and the PCs have a tracker.

He spends most of his time in the wilds and is devoted to hunting bandits, but is also a quite the woodsman. He does not spend much time around people. I am thinking that he is definately a gruff man, but he is by no means selfish. How could I RP a character like this well, I don't think I really managed to present this personality the way I wanted in the first game, so I want to know how a character like this would behave and talk so it makes more sense for the players in the next game.

Recently, the paladin of the group has been rude and condecending to him, for being "riff-raff" and "scum". I think times like these definately provide good rp opportunities, but I played him more like how I would act in a situation like that, ie. being a smartass, but this isn't how I picture him.

Give him a dry sense of humor, and make him witty. When the paladin calls out-

"Stop evildoers- that i might smite you"

have him respond with-

"right, as if *thats* gonna work"

A bandit hunter is a pretty cool idea, does he have lots of stories about his many hunts, does he hate bandits for any reason, and why is he so damn gruff?

Some others should be able to come up with some better questions, but this is a start.
