Ofcourse alot of it is fictional because the character exist in a D&D world, where facist Italians are the least of the a kingdoms worries. Alot of it is based on factual information too so without further ado and with no broken links. Haile Selassie I was born Jah RastafarI, in the village of Ejersa Goro, in the Harar province of Abyssinia. He inherited his imperial blood through his paternal grandmother, Princess Tenagnework Sahle Selassie, who was an aunt of Emperor Menelik II, and as such, claimed to be a direct descendant of Makeda, the queen of Sheba, and King Solomon of ancient Israel. After the Sudden death of the Empress Zewditu from a fever, Jah Rastafari was crowned "Conquering Lion of the Tribe of Judah, King of Kings of Abyssinia and Elect of Eheieh" at the age of 32. At the age of 15 served as a temple guard, training in the matrial skills with a sword and relegious dicipline. Young Jah handled a sword well, but always espressed a dislike for having to resort such measures. By the age of 17 had decided to take the Vows of Priesthood, becoming a Temple Priest. Jah felt the Spirit of Eheieh move in him as he spent countless hours and nights studying the written words of the holy men Abraham, Noah, Moses, David, Solomon, Enoch, and Elijah, from the Age of Prophets. Young Jah became in grossed in his studies he was often missed at events of nobility preferring to stay and take the extra time to re-read the Torah, convinced that there was something else he wasn't seeing. It was through this delegint pursuit that Jah RastafarI came into contact with an angel named Micheal, an Aspect of Raziel. Who bestowed upon Jah RastafarI and Intelligent Sword endowed with the esscence of Micheal. So at the age of 24 Jah RastafarI suddenly lead a 3 year campaign to rid Abyssinia of nomadic Orcish and Ogre tribes that had been pillaging smaller villages, as well as two known dragons living indside Abyssinia borders and ruthlessly tracking down Outsiders sent by Babylon to weaken the hearts of the People. Once rid of the evil influnece of Babylon and her wicked allies, Jah RastafarI was visited upon by the Spirit of Enoch, who is beleived to have been taken up to Eheieh, not experincing death and becoming the Angel Metatron (according to Abyssinian culture.) In a Dream The Voice of Ehehieh Spoke Through Enoch say: : "Lay a heavy hand not on any of my creation; For I AM, and in all exist me." Recieving this proverb marked a turning point in Jah RastafarI's life, For he return home to Addiss Ababa and placed his sword on the alter of Eheieh where it remains to the present day. As for Jah RastafarI He swore a Vow before his God to never to violence again at the age of 27. He dug into the Torah again, still convinced he had over looked something of importance until 5 years later when he was suddenly crowned Emperor of Ethopia. Fuffling what many of the common people call a prophcey becoming the first Kinged Priest in 1000 years. H.I.M. struggled at first trying to rule an empire for his people, but because he'd spent so much time in Temple he hardly knew the nobles and less of their intrest. H.I.M in an attempt to to bring in more money for social and econimical issue leveyed a tax againts LandOwner ship. Against H.I.M's Wishes much of the New tax was passed down from the land owner to the peasent farmer. However H.I.M. has reinstated an old custom that at night a peasent may go into the field and eat his fill provided he does not take anything to eat out of the field. Using the Wisdom from the old tradition H.I.M. began to make life better for All people. Even the noblity and Rich where more at ease; repealing the extra taxes, without the heavy influnence of Babylon. What the Nobels and Rich Men didn't see was that Babylon wasn't defeated. Babylon was just letting you get comfortable. Within 6 years of H.I.M.'s coronation as King and Emperor Babylon Launches an Attack on Hokmah, where H.I.M once studied the oldet of the Torah scrolls. The attack was largely Orcs with support from D'hara. For months after that Abyssians watched the build up of troops on the disputed border of Abyssinia and Babylon. The Bulk of the Abyssinian forces including the calavary unit created and once lead by Halie Selassie where sent to Hokmah to bulster the Defense. The Emperor himself visited the city of Hokmah once again, This time to give words of inspiration to the men who where defending their holy earth from the oprressive evil Babylon giving a Famous Speech. If you withhold from your country Abyssina, refusing to resist our enemy who is coming from a distant country to attack us, and if you persist in not shedding your blood, you will be rebuked for it by your Creator and will be cursed by your offspring. Hence, without cooling your heart of accustomed valour, there emerges your decision to fight fiercely, mindful of your history that will last far into the future... The battle was won once again, but the threat still remained as omnious clouds began to grow over Babylon. Hailie Selassie and his advisors became unable to look into Babylon through divination, and left to watch is borders. For years The King and his advisors sought answers, asking what to do. Powerless to do anything but wait and watch. A hired team of adventures sent into Babylon to spy reported back seeing Orc and D'hara Precence in the Ur city of Ivangrad. As well as the election of a new Arch Bishop of Ur (Dark Pope) named Mahomet, who is reportedly a former apprentice of the Red Wizard Szass Tam. Without warning just days after Halie Selassie sent dozens more Adventuring groups into Babylon, The Capital Addis Ababa was attacked by surprise with the stragic use of a flight of Dragons along with coropation between the Ur-Empire and the Rhal's in D'hara Addis Ababa was quickly overwhlemd. The King was forced into exile where he now searches for Aid in neighbooring Nations. Here (http://www.plothook.net/RPG/profiler/view.php?id=973) is a unbroken link to the character sheet. |

Hopefully the campaign in which you would put this character can accomodate it, although if I were a DM running a typical D&D campaign, I would try to keep the real world influences out of the game. Depends on what you're playing though. -A |
| Sargon05-22-07, 03:08 AM | anachronistic. I had to look that word up so i've got to respond. Obvisouly since it is a real world figure written into a fantasy setting it isn't going to be exactly in-time line. During Selassie's RWLife there wheren't orcs to fight. But there was alot of RW polotics. I was Also trying to accomate for the class selections of the fictional side of the character. RW Selassie wasn't a Paladin Cleric Contemplative. Accually I'm the DM and i wrote it for my game, i just always at least try to get a second opinion on something before I put it in game. Even stuff i make. Esspecially stuff i make. I've not only created Selassie but the Entire tradtional Jewish historical setting. Even geographically, To give the setting realism, in a Fantasy enviroment. *sigh* So yeah, its well thought. Is it possible to be too much so? BTW ana-chronistic Means out of chronicle order, incase your like me and didn't know. Sincerly Thank You for your opinion. One |
