Im starting a new campaign that centers on dragons and need help coming up with a backstory for a half gold dragon (half elf) that is LN and travels with a half blue dragon (tiefling) (my friend made that one we still aren't sure wether or not shes going to us it) Her AL is LE.

I just need some help coming up with a decent story that would explain why they would be traveling together.

Any help would be appreciated.

You're not allies - your allies.

Seeing as you're half-gold, your character probably has some kind of a bent towards good and justice. Seeing as the tiefling is part dragon and part demon, she probably has a disposition towards evil.

Perhaps she committed some crime (anywhere from grifting to regicide) and your character wants to bring her to justice. However, some quest (the nature of which would be determined by the campaign) must be undertaken first while you "keep an eye on her". Or possibly, she's trying to prove her innocence, and the two of you are tracking down the villain who really committed said crime.

Well, you're both Lawful, so that helps. Better still, you're not LG, so you don't have a good-evil conflict. If one of you was a God, the other could worship you and recive spells. No reason you can't get along.

So, it's completly possible that you are childhood friends, somewhat cast aside by the rest of the children for being, well, half dragons and therefore prone to set toys on fire if you have a cold. Or whatever Blue Dragons do to toys.

Or, on the other hand, you could both be seeking your draconic parents. There could be some wise sage on dragons that might know how they could be found, and so you met while traveling to meet him.

Thanks for the suggestions. My DM really liked the idea that she was falsely accused and i was trying to track down the reall perpetrator. He said he would try and work that in as an early mission to solidify our character background. My character works for the church of Io in our campaign, and seeing as he likes all his "children" the good and evil it made our being together a little more plauseable.

You could always tweak the colours and say that you're related, thats what I'm currently doing with mine and a friends character.
