ok, this is my 1st attempt at making a background story, but here goes:

name: Grod the Giant
size: 7 foot 4 inch
race: human/giant

story: His mother lived in a small town in the forests. One day, the village was attacked by giants. The guard fought well, but were defeated. Giants rampaged through the town. His mom was raped. Soldiers soon showed up and drove off the giants, but not soon enough. 9 months later Grod was born. He was named in the traditional maner of his name reflecting his father. The villigers were still afraid and angry and thought his mom had willingly slept with a giant. They threw her out, and she started wandering. She abandoned Grod somewhere along the way. He was found by another family and raised as one of them. As he got older and learned his heritage, he decided he wanted to fight against thigs like that. He started adventuring as a fighter.

think that was good?

I am curious as to what sort of half giant you are playing as there is the race of half giants in the Psionics hand book which are actually a race rather than a cross breeding of parents.

If you want to stick with a mixed parentage then you may want to steer clear of the father giant raping the human mother. Firstly the sheer mechanics of the initial act is likely to either severly damage or kill the human woman and if that doesn't then the birthing process probly will.

You could always try the approach of a human father who falls in love with a giant woman who has been cast out of her tribe for taking pity on the humans. She took to living in a cavern near the village of humans to be close to her human beloved. Much to thier suprise she falls pregnant but the villagers find out that there was a giant living nearby. They hire adventurers who kill the giantess. The human father finds that his son still lives, having been hidden away by his mother. He takes the boy and raises him as best he can but is killed whilst on a hunting trip when Grod was a only young. He was taken in by a kindly family who were friends of his fathers and sympathetic to his son. Grod is then raised with little or no knowledge of his family.
His motivation to fight injustice and hatred leads him to adventure and possibly in revenge against the party that killed his parents.

Thats just an idea.
Take it or leave it as you will.

If that's so, how come there are half-dragons? I wouldn't think they'd be able to mate, but evidentaly they can.

Perhaps it was the other way around? His mom (a giant) was raped by attacking soldiers, somehow escaped, and hid in the woods. She abandoned him when he was born, where he was found by an ex-adventuer and his wife. they raise him and teach him how to fight. When he grows up, he wants to prove people who insult him for being half-giant wrong, and decides to go on an adventure. :D

Half-Races are half human, half whatever... BUT Half-Giant are an exception from that rule, as they are rather are a mixture of races, from the Dark Sun (I think) campaign setting... It's a little weird... But the evidence is that neither humans nor giants are psionic, while half-giant are...

Half dragons are made when the dragon assumes [insert other half here] form and the child is conceived. When the child is born, it looks like a half dragon.
