Han Solo and Chewbacca [Archive] - Wizards Community

09-28-03, 04:09 PM A friend of mine is DMing a game for the first time, and I'm one of his players. (I'm an old vetern DM) Anyway, there are only two actaully players, and our DM usually has an NPC travel with the party, to balance it out. Well, since it was his first time DMing, I offered to play an second character. I was orginally going to play just an elven fighter/rouge, inspired by Han Solo. Then, I decided to make my second charcter a half-orc fighter, inspired of course, by Chewbacca. "Han" is actualy called Flyn Quicksword, and he's a con man...err...elf. He and his partner, Grunthor (grun for short) are running from the law. Anyway, I rolled stats and assighed them. Tell me if you think this looks right:

Flyn:
Str 12
Dex 19
Con 11
Int 14
Wis 9
Cha 12

Grun:
Str 19
Dex 12
Con 13
Int 11
Wis 15
Cha 7

Thoughts and opinnions appeciated. I thought that Han should have the higher Intelligence, but lower Wisdom. Often times all the probelms that they get into is because han makes a bad choice. I thought taht Chewie should be the opposit then, not very knowedgable, but perceptive.

09-28-03, 04:36 PM chewie has higher then 7 int. while he may not speak "human", he is a knowledgeable mechanic and whatnot. i'd have a hard time pinning a 7 int on him.

09-28-03, 05:38 PM Indeed. For Chewie, switch the Intelligence and Charisma.

I'm thinking about something. Chewie didn't speak because he was physically unable to do so. Could you play a Saurial instead of half-orc? Saurials are also physically unable to speak. I no saurials are not very popular, it's just a suggestion.

and chewie can speak, just not basic; just like humans can speak basic, but only understand Shyriiwook

09-29-03, 07:46 PM Yeah, just have your half-orc buddy unable to speak common, but your elf able to understand orc. That way you can have him roar and gurgle and the elf can answer him like Han did with Chewie. Cool idea. :D
