yes, i big pile of meta game thinking comming up :P

as i'm building my beguiler i was looking at the shadow weave feat in Forgotten realms. there is no way of getting a wisdom of 15 so to get that feat i need to have Shar as my deity. are there any good walk around stories so i can still stay good aligned?

my char story is here: http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=860184

If he's not a cleric, I don't think he's mechanically required to obey the one-step alignment rule, although one wonders why a Good person would follow Shar. Perhaps he admires Shar's tendency toward deception. There's also the question of whether Shar would willingly be the patron of a Good person (assuming deities have a choice in the matter). Perhaps she believes that she can turn such a deceptive person's actions against him, or she may believe that a life of deceit is more important than a life of evil.

the character uses his enchantments + perform(fortune telling) to deceive people into believing whatever he wants. he actually sees himself as an artist. so liking her for a deceptive behaviour is an OK idea.

Make him slightly indecisive about doing good and evil and not morally orthodox. He doesn't do evil but is tempted. Thus shar could be his patron because she would patronise those she thinks have a good chance to be turned to evil. Be generally good but tolerate/do small evils.
