As a Chultan tribal prince, Hebobo’s childhood was one of proportional luxury. His father, who was a great warrior-shaman, made sure that Hebobo learnt all there was to know about his home land, its people, their heritage and their reverence of nature. With aspirations of his son becoming the next warrior-shaman, Hebobo’s father was disheartened when he was told that although his son whole-heartedly held the same beliefs of his fellow tribe members, he had a very different way of approaching them.

While his father spoke of maintaining the balance of nature and his spiritual connection to the land, Hebobo found his core beliefs to be broader. He discovered that he could not focus solely on maintaining the balance of nature, but instead found that if he wished to maintain any sort of balance at all, he had to focus on the balance as a whole.

Upon his son’s choosing not to focus on the balance of nature itself, Hebobo’s father knew that the way of the shaman was lost to his son. Though he held no god in his heart, Hebobo continued to study the ways of his father out of respect. When studying the scriptures that had been inked onto a piece of hide, Hebobo found that, like his father, he could bring forth their power.

At first his father thought that he had the powers of a mystic, though when Hebobo was sent to train with the tribe’s medium, it was discovered that he had no aptitude for the art. Perplexed, his father then showed him more scriptures of shamanistic power and had him study them like he did the scriptures of mystical power. It was revealed that when he studied them, he could bring forth their powers as though he were a shaman, though he held none of a shamans other abilities.

As Hebobo continued to study various scriptures, finding out what powers he could bring forth and which he couldn’t, he became more and more of an oddity amongst his tribe. Some of the shamans saw his ability to utilize their powers without adherence to their beliefs to be blasphemous and after several weeks of deliberation, his father decided that his son would have to leave the tribe. Stoically accepting his fate as an outcast, Hebobo inscribed the scriptures he could utilize upon bone and rock, then left the tribe to discover his own belief.

During the weeks of solitude that followed, Hebobo meditated often, and amid the dreams that came to him due to the various plants and roots he ingested, his course was made clear. To his reckoning, “everything that is” was strongly unbalanced; and he saw that if he didn’t bring absolute balance to “all that is”, it would all fall into an everlasting oblivion.

With his dire prediction at heart, Hebobo set out for the great port his father had taken him to many times. Then with what little goods he had, traded passage to the main-land.

Physical Description: Hebobo stands 6’7ft tall and has a lanky, athletic build. He has dark, ebony skin with a shaved head; his facial features are strong yet attractive.

Not wearing any armor while wearing nothing more than a loin-cloth and head-dress, Hebobo stands out somewhat. He carries a single great spear, which has several bright feathers tied to its head.

Personality: Hebobo is as quite and calm individual who is able to maintain is stoic demeanor in the face of almost any threat. When spoken to, people find him to be a very serious, yet deeply spiritual person who talks in short, cryptic sentences.

Beliefs: Hebobo belief is that the entire multi-verse sits upon four sticks that are tied together around the middle (which makes a sort of brazier… two X’s… if that makes the description any clearer:uh-huh:). Each end of these four sticks which the multi-verse is supported by, represents one of the alignment extremes; Good, Evil, Law and Chaos. If the multi-verse leans to heavily upon any of these sticks, they will break and the entire multi-verse will be destroyed in the following cataclysm.

Hebobo uses the “Tattoo” and “Token” as an alternate form for his spell book (this was given in Unearthed Arcana, though my DM said that it was ok to use it for an Archivist)

Basically, the way that I shall play him, is with a focus on summoning all sorts of creatures (both good and evil) to do battle against any force that seeks to tip the balance. Although the game will start off with there being a strong lean in evils favor, if it ever came to it, Hebobo would have no qualms against summoning a demon or devil to attack a paladin if it would bring about the balance.

Although he doesnt have any yet, i plan on having him be covered in magical tattoo's (actual magical ones, not just his spell book equivelent ones) that will offer him various forms of protection (most notibaly... protection from good, evil, law and chaos)

So what do you all think? To the first person who figures out which movie character I based Hebobo on, ill give a shiny penny :D
