| Lord QZip12-16-03, 11:06 PM | do you have a personality for this character? It'd be very much help in the creation of a backround. |
| vebor12-17-03, 03:58 PM | Yes. He is morally amorphus (?). He is something of a wiseass, hard to attach to but fiercly loyal, almost to the point of death, to his friends. He doesnt care much about good and evil. He doesnt remember anything, but thats how Im gonna play him. |
| TinySilverChalice12-17-03, 11:53 PM | Well, since you're playing in FR there's one thing your cleric has to remember: his diety. There's no divine casters in FR who don't get their spells from a god. (Unless your DM rules otherwise, but what I just said there comes out of the FR setting book.) Choice of faith for me is the best place to start a character concept, even non-divine casters. Pick a god and go from there. |
| Balor12-18-03, 08:10 AM | yes that is important to your backstory. you cant have much of a backstory without your deity included, start with how you decided to become a priest of your chosen deity. Regards, Balor |
| Mysteris12-18-03, 12:24 PM | Where does your character start? What does he have on him? Does he even want to recover his memory? As for a god to worship, you might want to sit down with your DM one afternoon and go over the various deities of the Forgotten Realms setting. There are a wide variety of them, all very colorful, and since a cleric's life revolves around service to their God, you'll want to be careful about picking a God to worship. Off the top of my head, I'd say a god like Tempus (God of War) might be a good choice, but again, you know your character best and you should really look carefully at all the Gods before deciding. |

For the deity, I would suggest an elemental god, especially Kossuth, the elemental god of fire. Many blacksmiths worship him because they need fire to heat their metal. As for the background, there could be a high level party, journeying to an (orc, goblin, lizardmen, gnoll...) warcamp, to smite the threat they were representing. They find the warcamp burned to ashes, with many humanoïd corpses burned as well, and you in the middle of this mess, with some burning scars, remembering only walls of fire everywhere... |
| LiXinjian12-18-03, 08:05 PM | Nice idea Morka. The PC just lies there, prostrated in the middle of ashen ruins, confused and amnesiac. Did he do this? Why is he the sole survivor of this carnage? Of course, the other PCs will keep an eye on this one for a long time. They'll know there's something that's not to be trusted with him... |
