| MonkeyPaladin09-05-05, 01:45 PM | Our last campaign ended sort of abruptly and we started a new one on the fly, so I really didn't get the chance to develop a character idea. We needed a divine caster, and since I'm normally the fighter, I volunteered to play a druid. I made him a halfling just to be different, and it helps with the druid AC a little. I named him Garret, and since we're in Eberron he has the least mark of healing and is part of House Jorasco. The DM pretty much said that his family was sending him to this one town to set up an outpost and be the representative of their house and the healer. Then of course he met up with the rest of the group. Because of the circumstances of how it started, he didn't really have a back story or a lot of personality. I figured my character was from the Talenta Plains, and doesn't like being forced to live in the city. He is a druid worshipping nature and not a specific deity, (which is better IMO, since druids are not clerics with forest gear). I just can't think of too much to make Garret different than every other druid. What personality traits could he have? What physical characteristics could make him unique? (although nothing drastic, because we're like fifth level now so anything bizarre would have been noticed.) |

I mean, if he wildshaped into a wolf, when he gets back to halfling, he could keep on sniffing everything, or if he was a bear, he could keep on grumbling... As for the backstory, he could have grown in a druidic groove. He has always been very competitive, and was aiming for a post. But another young druid won a contest, and your druid was forced to leave the groove. He could have kept this shame for himself, until he met another druid who reminds him this. As for the druid who beat him at the contest, he could become a recurring NPC, always one step before you. |

Now it would have some roleplay application as well. In the second suggestion, I'm assuming you mean grove? That idea would be harder to implement and I'd have to check with my DM, but it might be a cool idea. I'll kick it around. |
