| OmniPaul08-01-05, 04:18 AM | I'm playing a human ranger4/barbarian2. I don't really have trouble getting into character, but I keep thinking I could do more to show off his ranger-ness. However, I'm really not sure how to go about doing this. Thus far, I feel as though I'm focusing on the barbarian part more, mostly since in combat he does all sorts of wild and reckless manuevers (and it works!). Currently, the only ranger things he does are scavenging for food using survival, the occasional hunt, and rolling to find tracks when called for. Anybody have any pointers on ranger-esque behavior or quirks that I could integrate with my character's personality? |

Hunt naked and with only a dagger. You hate arcane magic, refuse to be buffed or made invisible, etc and always attack enemy spellcasters first. |

"be sure to walk singlefile to reduce the amount of vegitation destroyed and disturbed, this also effectivly conceals the number of partymembers to anyone stumbling upon our trail..." or " look here! this particular type of toad, if licked, will produce for some an intense religous experience" :D |

Be careful with fire. Be scruffy. Be dirty, as animals can smell you. Make the forest your home. It provides all your needs and gives you a home. Get an old copy of the Boy Scout books from the 1930-40's...Lots of good information in them... |

It really helps knowing the best escape routs should things get ugly in the small town or fort ahead or the rotation of the local guard and where that shady looking guy sneaks off to. and if that doesnt interest you be the fly on the wall with your party when you are supposed to be off scouting jsut sit and watch your own party members to get a feel for what they do when they dont think anyone is looking. I dont know how many times I spotted the party rogue pilfering things from someones pack while they were sleeping or when he examines documents or loot that were never before seen by other party members. just give it a shot you can learn a ton about what happens around you by just not drawing attention for a while. enjoy.
