| SenatorVeldrin04-03-04, 03:46 PM | A brief description first: We are playing in a campaign focused on seafareing (something like carebeean in 16-17 cent., just without firearms). My character is a young drow, who fled the underdark becouse he had no hope of social advancement, you know the matrons and stuff. By default, he is evil and I am trying to make him an arcane trickster. He got some minor training in wizardry, but becouse he was so uninterested he was forced to flee or else... The situation is that I just don't know what kind of a personality to attach to him. Currently he is rog1/Ench1. Any tips welcome, and thanked. |
| Rekko04-04-04, 10:15 AM | By default, he is evil and I am trying to make him an arcane trickster. Well illusion is a good way to be an arcane trickster. But still, it depens on what kind of tricks you want to pull and on who you want to pull them. Are you looking forward to kill people because of a trap, or because they laugh so much they choke? Keep the info coming Rekko P.S I too play an evil caracter. A goblin fighter who seeks adventure danger and justice ( LE as you deduced ) |
| SenatorVeldrin04-05-04, 08:10 AM | I'm actualy thinking to make him, the guy in the shadows villain type. It's just, that, that is currently not posible, unless you count a termite chewing on the ship deck a follower ;). The setting we are in is really chaotic (which suits him just fine), since no major faction has any real hold on the region. It's just, that I don't know what should be his prime motivation, or ambition, which would make him to strive forward. Creating a guild is nice, but that is what everybody does. My stats are: STR: 12 DEX: 16 CON: 12 INT:18 WIS:8 CHA:16 I would like some info how much should my wis. reflect on my character. Curently his main goal is to become a capitain of the ship, since the current one had gone "bananas". Also any tips for drow behaviour is welcome. Thx. |
| Rekko04-05-04, 03:15 PM | For the Wis reflecting on your caracter. Well, he can be a know-it-all guy, but he is poor in analysis and deduction, but still ppl are attracked to him. So he could be the type of captain that knows every corner of the sea ( lol ) but needs a second hand to figure things out. I'm actualy thinking to make him, the guy in the shadows villain type MMM..... you contradicted yourself, you want to be in the shadow AND be a captain? You said you were Chaotic.... AND be a captain? Did you decide of your class yet? Can you tell me what are your companions's classes and races? Rekko PS I'll be thinking of a motivation for your caracter later |
| SenatorVeldrin04-06-04, 06:22 AM | The thing with being the capitain is, that the char. needs influence. What easier way than to sieze a leaderless ship. There is only one pc besides me and he is FTR2 wild elf of CN alignment, but he lacks playing experience (the player). The crew is a mix of humans and elves. Some of the are ex slaves. Also you made a nice point that I contradict myself. True. That is usualy my real life thing too. I just can't decide. And in future I am planing to raise his wisdom score, becouse it just doesn't fit him. He is Rog1/Enchanter1 and about future advancement, as I said, I want to make him an arcane trickster. He looks like this: http://www.pen-paper.net/modules.php?set_albumName=ClaudioPozas&id=drow_male&op=modload&name=gallery&file=index&include=view_photo.php with a litle diference in haire style: he is clean shaven, not to betray his origins on first sight. About chaotic, yes true, I suppose NE would suit him better. I fancy the idea that he would be a sadist, since it adds a nice flavour. Thanks for the feedback. I am very grateful. Senator Veldrin |
| Eilistraeeeee04-16-04, 05:11 AM | i'd guess cha 16 would be the highest charisma score on the ship so he would have an easy time becoming the captain of the ship. maybe his motivations are piracy (both NE and CE) with the NE be more like a thinker, picking strategic vessels to raid and places to land, make a home base and the CE one just being on his boat ransacking every other boat he sees that shows only a little bit of value. maybe you could even persuade the crew of boats he captures to become pirates too (enchantment would help with that) and the arcane trickster might be a good PrC for a pirate (have to admit, never tried that before :D ). for the low WIS, let the high CHA and INT convince people otherwise and hire or persuade a PC or NPC with a little higher WIS (but hopefully low INT) to become his personal servant and let him offer suggestions while keeping in mind you have to be in charge, threaten him (intimidate) to be silent or make him believe he is far less important than he really is(might be a bit risky) just a little idea from the top of my head |
| SenatorVeldrin04-19-04, 12:06 PM | New feedback! DM just cut our ship in halp via a magic ball of something. And we lost a chest worth 22000 gp (estimated)!!!!:tantrum: Now I am alone (as well as the other PC) and stranded without any guilleable fools to manipulate. Hell, I was so close to purchasing a base of operations.... (why, oh, why!) Also thx for the feedback I really apreciate it. If you have any more suggestions you are welcome to express them. See ya!! |
| Eilistraeeeee04-20-04, 03:48 AM | i can only say one little thingy...... THAT S*CKS. :weep: |
| SenatorVeldrin04-20-04, 11:11 AM | Yeah, it does, kindof... :banghead: well, **** happens. Anyway, we are playing tomorrow so we'll see what happens. Until then, then! |
