A few more scant details:
- self imposed exile, in order to aviod punishment for a past deed.
- worships Shar because he values secrecy, and finds darkness beautiful.
- loves to manipulate, trick, deceive and seduce, making good use of his alter self ability.
- Uses the Shadow Weave, as a gift from his goddess, to cast his magic, giving him a darker edge.

Other than that, I'm unsure....in regards to alignment anyway. What I want help with exactly is how to play a bard to an evil alignment. It hints at it in the PH, but nothing substantial. For instance, what sort of instrument, if any, would he use? Any tips you could give me on roleplaying an evil bard would be most appreciated. :)

Your "Alter Self" ability could help promote your performances, change into men, women, demi-humans and really do up your promotion.

Though, Mask might be another appropriate choice for deity...I get the feeling you really want the shadow weave without penalty.

A neutral evil bard would probably use his/her bardic music to further their cause. Suggestion, fascinate, etc.

You realize, playing a Fey'ri is rather dangerous due to their background, with the added Shadow Weave, you got your work cut out for you.

As for your instrument, anything should be fine or twisted enough for a slightly bent purpose.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I won't lie and say that the penalty didn't influence my choice of deity, but I've always loved Shar anyway, so it was a natural choice. I do see where you're coming from with Mask though. I can't believe I didn't think of him  .

I'm unsure of what you mean by You realize, playing a Fey'ri is rather dangerous due to their background, with the added Shadow Weave, you got your work cut out for you. though. Could you perhaps elaborate?

Thanks again :) .

Read the history of the Fey'ri and ask yourself, if you knew there was a demon blooded elf hybrid in town would you as an adventurer trying to make a name for themselves, do gooder, or just some bard who wanted to rid of the competition...want to do?

It's rather unsettling how they breed, of course they aren't as savage as the orc version but, Fey'ri is still considered one of the bad guys.

Even Drizzt gets flak when he goes to towns that don't recognize him at first. Imagine what your guy would get the first some someone notices that you have an evil aura or sees you tap the shadow weave.

Otherwise, I think it's a great start for a character.

Use your cover band to cover your tracks, id, and create some intrigue. Not all tieflings are evil, not all fey'ri's are bloodthirsty killers, and not all aasimars want to be paladins.

Not sure if this is a PC or NPC, but either way I think it should add great roleplaying scenerios.
