| LordMongoose08-27-06, 10:51 PM | I'm playing a halfling druid in an Eberron campaign. I need help figuring out plausible and preferably non-cliché reasons for the following: Why would he leave the Talenta Plains and travel four thousand miles to the Eldeen Reaches? Why did he become a druid in the first place? How could he get to 5th level before becoming a PC? I'm much more of a seat of the pants roleplayer. My campaigns up to this point have consisted of working out some numbers for an hour and then sitting down to play, figuring out my character as I went along. However, for this one, I need to submit a backstory ahead of time. Thank you for any assistance you can provide. |

He fell in love with the riding dinos his family raised, identified a little too strongly with them, and decided he wanted to know what it was like to be one. So he travelled to a particular legendary circle of druids in the Eldeen Reaches, knowing that they'd hold the secret to such a transformation. He learned to centre his mind and become one with nature, training with them long enough to unlock the first secrets of wild shape (which, conveniently enough, happens at fifth level). After this, he was sent out into the wider world to learn his final lessons for himself. Wow, what came out pretty quick, and it seems just quirky enough to make for a very memorable druid. Rawr! |

I was picturing him as an angry (compensating?) halfling a la Belkar, but this gives me a great idea: Angry and snappy most of the time, but then switches into dreamy mode when thinking about dinosaurs, and speaks baby talk *to* his dinosaur. Thank you so much :D |
