Why does he want to become immortal? He just wants power? He wants to be immortal so he might have a chance to merry that cute elven girl and spend a many hundred years together? He has noticed that most villains want to become immortal and he can't stay behind with this hype? How/from who did he learn Magic? That necromancer that killed his parents and decided that the child would be his little servant? He once found a book about dark magic hidden in the local library, he studied it while the other children were playing outside? Does he believe in the powers of Good and Love or has he been betrayen to many times. I hope this is a good start. |

I had a character named Ryoma who was a psion(telepath, LE) who wished to become immortal His background was that he came from a long line of evil kings in a dark and desolate land. Knowing what becomes of all kings, he sought immortality. He did not wish to ever lost his kingdom once he obtains it (his father still lives, so he waits...patiently...). Once Ryoma is Epic, he will attempt to create a new psion power that grants him the ability to body hop (like mindswitch). This will be his avenue for power. While campaigning, he sees his fellow adventurers (mostly CN or LN) as tools. He will not attempt to save a dying freind, unless he believes he/she is usefull. He will go out of his way to help someone if he believes he/she is completely necessary for his grand scheme. For your wizard, he could be incredibly calculating and diabolical. His plans when adventuring would be grand and precise. Instead of just "killing the evil wizard", he might try a way to bend him to his will, enslave or enlist him. When you gain an ally you lose a potential enemy. These are just things I use when being an evil dominating character, hope it helps |

You want revenge, but only killing that immortal being will not be enough, you want to live as long as him. Or perhaps you realize that it would need more than one human life to gain the power to avenge your familly... |
