Hi!

I just created my new character and have some general ideas for his story but would like some help thinking of extras to add in for fun.

Name- Isuriel Kellaendros
Race- Air Genasi(Born to Moon Elves)
Home- Everska
Alignment- CN
Age- 51

Appearance- 6'1, thin but toned build, light skin with a blue hue, dark blue hair tied back in a pony tail, everywhere he goes he brings a mild breeze along with him and his skin is cool to the touch.

Class- Starting as Swashbuckler, later taking levels in Figher and Dervish.

Role in Party- Playing with Aasimar Cleric, Aasimar Paladin, and Wild Elf Archer. Role will essentially be finesse fighter. 18 dex, 14 str, 16 con, 18 int, 9 wis, 8 cha. I will also be filling the role of the party rogue but only for the traps/locks.

Backstory- Isuriel is fairly young(51 seems about young adult age for a mix between elf and genasi) The other elves his age dont care much for him as he was different and is fairly aloof. Not to mention Isuriel found he never learned anything from those his own age...

Instead of being with others he followed the adults around learning what he could. One day he met the local locksmith(whose name is yet undecided) and soon became good friends. The locksmith was once an aspired bladesinger but never could get the magic techniques down well enough so instead he fell back to his second love of locks. After spending a couple decades with the locksmith Isuriel learned some swordplay technique and got some insight on locks and devices. The locksmith soon became bored with his lot in life and decided to go explore the world. Isuriel followed and they eventually found their way to the Silver Marches.

Any details I might add?
What might happen in the Silver Marches to get me to meet up with my party and somehow get seperated from my mentor?
I'm also trying to think up some personality quirks...8 Cha isnt terrible but I want to have a defining trait...

Any input would be great! :)

Some ideas:

The mentor could have been killed or kidnapped by a powerful foe (a wyrm, an organisation, an orc tribe, etc). While tracking down this foe, you meet the rest of the party, hunting the same foe.

Your mentor could have falled in love with the wild elf older sister (or mother).

You and the aasimars could have been victim of the spell Planar Ally or Planar Binding.

If your mentor is some kind of rogue, he could have tryed to pick the lock on an inn room. It appears it is the paladin's room. Now he is imprisonned until you redeem your mentor.

Your character could always try and find out more about the being the introduced the elemental bloodline into his family. Or maybe you could have him have a rival who's also an genasi.
