| Eyes of Vhaeraun03-04-04, 11:06 AM | Hello folks. I am playing in a drow campaign, with the ultimate goal being entry into Bregan D'aerthe. I am looking for some advice on my house ( we have to be from a house, because we start out in the patrols around Menzoberranzen) and a bit of a backstory for my Character. He is a Ftr2/Necromancer3 right now, going for Spellsword. He uses a scythe and casts a lot of fear effect spells, but mostly concentrates on debilitating enemies. The house has to be low rank, like between 27 and 35, and the Character must be first or second boy in the house. Everything else is pretty much up in the air. Thanks for your input. |

You could be the only surviving member of your house in a failed coup. Another idea is that through house warfare your matron mother was slain and you have no sisters. Who other than bregandaereth would take control of your motley group. |

Basically, the house has ponied up to House Baenre, the ruling house of the city, and has gained favor because of it. The Matron Mother Ki'Willis Millithor tends toward neutrality, in that she eschews unnecessary violence. She tries to build her follower's loyalty more than their fear. Several NPCs are listed as a part of this house: Krecil Treak, the current patron, who assassinated the patron before him on orders of Bregan D'aerthe. Narcelia, elder daughter Carcelen, second daughter Marckarius, elderboy Torrellan, secondboy Quertus, the house wizard, who is a cousin and not from the Matron Mother's direct line House Nurbonnis is the twenty-first house, and the most basic info is given about it (not as much as Millithor, which is a big focus). I only had a little time to glance through, but I hope this gives some ideas at least. Bregan D'aerthe takes in rogue (most often male) drow, but they are not above dealing with drow that remain in their own houses. The character would not necessarily have to be first or secondboy in order to get Bregan D'aerthe's attention. It all depends on the arrangement at hand. You should discuss the possibilities with your DM. You might also want to consider who brought your character around to Necromantic magic. Drow in Menzoberranzan are all taught the basics of magic, but specialization might not be seen every day. Could be an opportunity to have a connection to an interesting NPC. Good luck with your drow. =) |

By the way, if you can get your hands on the boxed set, it contains info. on the house of House Millithor itself (as in, the structure), as well as full stats for the major people I listed. There's even more than that that can be gleaned from reading the adventure closely (like, the stats for the patron are in there, but the stats of the rest of the major characters are found on these cards). House Nurbonnis is given basic stats: matron mother, house guard numbers, types, formations, the number of nobles and such. |
