Hey mates, im making an evil cleric bent of world domination. The DM I have is going to sorta play off my characters storyline for the upcomming campaign and I was wanting some help in making a better background. So heres what I got, if you see anything that I should add or redo please tell.

Shonton D’avrok

Born on to the house of Lord Kyranus D’avrok, a ruthless tyrant who controlled his land by laws and fear to all that opposed him. Shonton the youngest to 3 son’s, and was loved most by his father above his bothers. From the day of his birth Shonton was catered to by servants on his every demand. They bathed him, feed him, and dressed him. Rumor has it that Lord Kyranus removed the heads of 3 servants just because young Shonton cried that is bath water was to hot.

All throughout the lands everyone agreed that Lord Kyranus, ones a fair and just ruler, became mad as he wept over the body of his wife that he loved so dear. Through complication during labor died while giving birth to young Shonton. Kyranus arose with blade in hand and slew all that assisted in the delivery 5 total in all. Upon that day Kyranus covered in the blood of his servants, held his son above his head and said, “ she lives in you my son, from this day forward you shall not want for anything”. “ for her name was Saleena so shall your name be Shonton and I shall love you my son”.

Shonton had two older brothers; the oldest was a scholar and practiced the dark arts of Necromancy while the second oldest followed his fathers footsteps in becoming a great fighter in his fathers army. Word soon spread that Kyranus’ family was dealing in the dark arts and the other lords banded together under the leadership of a Paladin of Pelor to confront Kyranus. They demanded that he give over his son to be convicted and hung. Kyranus called his soldier to arms and marched into battle against the Paladin’s army. Kyranus and his men were all killed and the Paladin marched to Castle D’avrok to rid the world of the evil Shonton’s brother was spreading. Seeing the doom that was approaching, Shonton, age 10, fled the castle vowing revenge for what the Paladin did to his family.

Soon after, had a dream, where Nurell, the lord of death, told him to follow and worship him, and he will grant him his wish of revenge. Now, age 30, Shonton is living his life to serve his new master in the hopes that he will please him enough that he will grant him the powers to hunt down the Paladin and take back his noble rights.

Nothing is known if his eldest brother made it out of not. His other brother died in the battle with his father.

Goals:
Please his god by raising a dark army of undead and conquering lands till he finds castle D’avrok and kills the Paladin.

Shonton is a lawful evil cleric of Nurell with DEATH and PESTILENCE as his domains.

Any ideas on the background or how I made the cleric?

Looks good to me (for whatever that's worth). I think this would be a great opportunity to use the 'Unholy Scion' template found in Heroes of Horror.

Finding or resurrecting his Necromancer brother might be a great goal. Also animating the remains of his fighter brother could be a way to bring the family back together. That gives a good low-level goal, and a more immediate direction than 'world domination'. Finding ways to increase the number of undead that he can control after succeeding in these goals would be a great next step. Leadership is a must ASAP (6th level), especially if you can construct your own cohorts and followers (go over to the Char Op board, there is a thread on low-level followers that was bumped in the last 2-3 days for ideas).

'One step at a time' will make this character fun to play with a sense of growing accomplishment toward his ultimate goal.

No problem. Also, if you have Libris Mortis available to you, you'll find a ton of great things in there for an undead army-builder.

Corpsecrafter, Undead Leadership, etc.

Sounds like it'll be a blast to play.
