Hey everyone, I was thinking about making a dwarf for my next game, but wanted to spice things up a bit. I just got savage species, and two templates, Multiheaded and Insectlie Creature, really jumped out at me. I must say, six arms and superior Multiweapon fighting was just too sweet to pass up (even for +4 LA). As a rough outline, I was thinking he should wield six dwarven waraxes and be a fighter or barbarian (but I'm open to suggestions).
But the real question is, what kind of crazy backstory would come from an Insect-Dwarf with six arms and two heads?

Your help will be appreciated.
:D

The two additional pairs of arms from the insectile template do not provide extra attacks.

hmm. ok. a multi-headed six-arm insectile dwarf. got it. here's your story. (parts 1/2/3...4/5 done soon)

It's kinda silly, but so is a MHSAID. anyway.

Metamorphosis: The True Story of Drex the Dwarf

Part One: In which We meet Our Hero and His Friend

Drex was your fairly typical dwarf. There were few things he enjoyed in his life more than a cold brew after slicing his axe through some skulls. Some days after a hard day of skull slicing, he would sit around the fire at his favorite tavern, The Drunk Skunk, and talk about which skulls split open better when you hit em.

"I prefer small, puny round ones." Said Drex's friend, the Half-Orc Ox. "They make nice pop sound when you crush em!" Ox hefted his warhammer up and slammed it on the table to accentuate his point, spilling his drink on Drex.

"Watch yer brew!" Drex shot back. Wiping himself off with his waist length beard, he replied "Those little 'uns aren't for me, I like the big ones. Nothin better than watchin some fellas brain juice squirt out his melon!"

Those were the good days for Drex and Ox. Some call them the salad days, the glory days. Unfortunately for Drex, his nights at The Drunk Skunk were about to end.

Part Two: In which Our Hero Intervenes for the Cause of Lost Brew

One stormy evening while arguing with Ox about skulls over some cold brews, a cloaked and hooded figure burst through the doors and crashed into Drex's table, once again spilling Ox's drink into Drex's lap.

"Now that's done and torn it! What do you think you be doin, crashin in here like that...." Drex was unable to complete his verbal harrassment of the stranger as two heavily armed and dangerous looking individuals entered the tavern, scowls on their faces.

The two wore matching suits of heavy armor, and in fact were dressed to match the other in every respect. Their weapons, one wickedly barbed greatsword per imposing figure, were matched as well with blood stains.

As they started over towards the cloaked and hooded figure with murderous intent in their eyes, the mysterious stranger struggled to stand. He held on the table for support, his other arm clutching at the now apparent wounds across his abdomen. Estimating the duo's intent, Drex stepped in between the struggling stranger and eyed the killer twins as he slowly loosed his axe from it's scabbard.

"I hope you aint too keen on killin this fella yet! He's gots to pay me friend back for his spilt brew!" Drex said, as the pair of fighters stopped their advanced to stare him down.

"Yeah!" Piped in Ox, "He owes me a new drink!" and stomped his away around the broken table to stand next to Drex.

The intruding intruders looked at each other briefly, and then one said to Drex, "Move aside dwarf...."

"....or we will kill you as well." Finished the other.

Drex merely shrugged and swung his now free axe towards the head of the nearest twin. The assasin showed no look of surprise, but merely moved to sidestep and bring his greatsword up to block.
However, he happened to step on Ox's empty cup and tumbled right into the path of Drex's desceneding death blow. As the life faded from the former fighter, his companion dropped his own greatsword and clutched at his head, screaming in agony, as if trying to hold his head together.

"See how much juice shoots out when you crack the big ones?" Drex shouted to Ox as he struggled to free his axe from the would be killers skull.

"Mebbe you're right" Ox replied as he charged towards the pain paralyzed assailant, swinging his warhammer in a complete circle before landing it on the top of his doomed foes dome.

Part Three: In which a Mysterious Stranger is Revealed and our Hero is given a Choice

With the immediate threat over, the mysterious stranger managed to place himself in a nearby chair. The hood is drawn back to reveal the face of a human male in the last stages of his life.

"How's yer belly?" Drex asks the stranger.

"And wheres my brew?" Implores Ox.

A slight smile plays across the strangers face as he winces in reply. "My wounds appear worse than they are, and as for your drink..." The stranger pauses to pull out a hefty coin pouch and drop it on the table "Your performance was worth at least a week's worth of drinks."

Ox eyed the stranger suspicisouly for a second, then grabbed the coin pouch and marched to bar, shouting orders at the barkeep.

"Now that's settled, maybe you can tell me what in the hell just happened here?" Drex pulled a chair over and sat down next to the stranger.

"Certainly," said the stranger. "My name is Julius d'Artaxan, and you have killed two assasins from the Nightstalkers Guild."

"Nightstalkers, eh?" Drex thought about that for a minute, then decided he didn't want to think about it any longer. "Why were they afters you anyways?"

Julius paused, taking a moment to affix bandages to his wounds. "They were chasing me because I've got something they want." With that ominous opening Julius pulled a large pouch from inside his cloak and placed it on the table.

"Inside this bag is a crystal ball that contains my lifes work. I am a wizard, you see, and have been studying the effects of uncontrolled magic."

A glint appeared in the old wizards eye. "It's very dangerous to work with, and though I may appear to be a man of 70 winters, I am in fact only yet 31 years old." Smiling at the cruel joke of his life, he began coughing and hacked something that was green and glowing into a hankerchief he pulled out of his cloak.

"This aspect of magic is powerful...more powerful than anything you could even imagine. There are many useful side effects..." With that Julius lifted the bandages to show that his wounds were completely healed.

"How is that..." Drex began to ask before the wizard cut him off.

"How is not important. It is one of many applications of this new magic, but I have exposed my body to it far too much without proper protection." The wizard frowned in thought, and continued. "But this is of little importance." He picked the bag carefully up off the table and put it back in his cloak. "What I need is someone to escort me to a place where I can continue my studies, without fear of assassination or death from this magic." Julius smiled at Drex. "And that's were you come in."

What kind of new uncontrollable magic has the wizard been working with?

Why did the assassins want to kill the kindly mage?

How long will it take for Ox to drink a coin pouch worths of brew?

Find out next time....here on random character backrgounds!

the extra arms do allow you to qualify for the multiweapon feats which then gives you multitask and multivoice

five fracking spells a turn instant buffage

then use those arms to wield bigger weapons like say two greatswords a shield and spell casting
