I'm having trouble coming up with a story from him. He worships moradin and is LG, he's gruff with elves haha which is fun. Calls everyone weak and puny but will beat the living tar out of anyone that messes with his friends (the people he teases). He likes the risk of adventuring and left to spread the fear of his clan (Bollod) in all goblinoids and orcs. He wears, Masterwork Mithril Fullplate, Wields a Flaming Burst Greataxe he calls dragon's breath. He traded a barbarian a cursed Raging Greatsword (not sure whether its a curse for the barbarian... anyways) for Dragon's Breath. He recently drew 3 cards from a deck of many things and gained 4 wishes, +2 to an ability score (constitution) and friend betrayal thing. He wished away the thigns that happened to his friends (wraith and such... and then wished for a ring of regeneration :ayyyy!: . A troupe of Eyes of gruumsh just ran past him (their were twenty) and now he's planning on tracking them and killing them. Stats, 18str, 16, dex, 20 con, 15 int, 15 wis, 8 cha. |

Was your character raise in a Dwarf colony or a cosmopolitan setting (a village, town, or city with lots of different races)? Example: My Dwarven ranger, Brand Ironfist, was raise in a clan stronghold atop of a mountain where his clan found coal and diamonds. His father often traded with nearby colonies of dwarves and gnomes for goods his clans needed and Brand normally accompanied his father. Acustomed to life outside the mountain, Brand was a natural candidate for the defensive patrol which patroled the dwarven farms around the mountain watching for invaders. Being outside most of the time with little or no back-up, I chose the bow over the two-weapon-fighting build. This gave him ranged attacks against multiple enemies and he could still draw an axe if he went hand-to-hand. Also, he has had many long years of interacting with other races and is a bit more worldly than the other dwarves in his hometown. 2. Why did your character start adventuring? Dwarves tend to stay close to home unless there is a good reason not to. Is he on a quest to prove the might of his clan? Was he shunned by the clan for a crime and now must do pennance to be welcomed back? Was he jilted by his lover and now hiding away from the gossipd or is he trying to prove his worth to rub his ex's nose in it. Or are your adventures based out of his hometown? In the case of my character, he was escourting the king's tax collector after he had just collected the clan's annual tribute (20 large diamonds). They were attacked and Brand not only saved the life of the tax collector (the only other survivor), he also saved the diamonds. Upon reaching the king's castle, Brand was honored and given new duties, which required him to patrol the entire kingdom (with the rest of the party). 3. Since you seem to have quite a bit of adventuring under your dwarf's belt, include the history of how you came across the Deck of Many Things and the other magic items you have. 4. Finally, if you have a base of operations, include maps of it for your DM. Include descriptions of the defenses, a brief history of the place and all the details (water source, food collection, sewage, housing, etc). Pay attention to escape routes. I did it for Brand and the "Keep of Clan Ironfist" really helped me develop my character. BTW, place a convienant ice cave nearby to use as a meat locker and a dairy center. |
