| chronoplasm11-27-05, 01:26 PM | Hi! I'm new and I was wondering if somebody could help me on this character. You see, I want to do a Cleric who worships himself as a god. Now, I can roleplay that pretty easily but I want to know if it would work mechanically. This character values carnality, hospitality, and vengeance, but is not particularly impulsive. On the contrary, I think the character should be quite lawful (he favors a strong police state. The setting kind of borders on anarchy though. He would love to be able to change things and he wants to gain political influence.) He doesn't mess with people, especially in their own homes, but if somebody messes with him (especially in his own home) he will get even with them one way or another (not neccecarily by killing people. Maybe by blackmail, or by sleeping with the right person's wife, or by sleeping with the right person's husband.) I also think he should be able to summon Demons, but I'm not sure if a Cleric could do this. Can anyone help me? *edit* And other little details: He wears a black robe with a dragon embroidered on the back. He is a total drama queen. He carries a mirror and a dull sword with him into battle to "channel" his divine energy and likes to make long speeches before hand. He shaves his head everyday. He has a thing for Elves. |

Perhaps your character has a bad case of Narcisism and belives that he is devine but some how manages to take power anyway. Also in the old Plane Scape setting there was a faction of creatures (I say creatures because not all of them were people) who belived that there were no gods and drew power from thier indomitable will power. Another thing, the black robe with dragon on is a cool visual but how does that fit into his ethos of divinity? does he belive that he is a dragon or decended from one? Perhaps some sort of personal symbol would be more inline with the 'I am godly' idea. Other than that it is a great start for a character. |

Theatrics are a big part of his personal religion and gameplan. For that reason, I am considering splashing a little bard in. |
