| lost_archer08-25-05, 05:13 PM | i had thought about using a ranger to make an archer but after taking a look at the feats i decided that it would be best to make a fighter into an archer. however i have a few problems. my last dm gave me two flaws noncombatent  and motor mouth so that i could gain two extra feats. i think that this means that i cant get very many close combat feats. im tring to get it so that i can kill anything befor it gets to me or the rest of my party. having lost the feat portion of my charcter sheet i dont know which feats i had. i have a str of 16 and a dex of 20. lvl 5 fighter. i use a compound long bow +2 and i have point blank shot and i think persions shoot. please help me deside which other feats to select lost archer |

Second of all, Warrior is not a class, it's an NPC class, (NPC standing for Non-Player Character). Since you are a person playing the game you are a player character or PC. Hence you should be using PC classes, not NPC classes. NPC classes are woefully less powerful than the core classes and create horrible conflicts with the already often messed up challenge rating system. A warrior is EXACTLY like a fighter, except worse. The only difference is fighters get a ton of bonus feats, whereas warriors get none. Now, you really SHOULD be a fighter (if you're a warrior and you're group is made up of core [PC] classes I feel VERY sorry for you unless you become a fighter). As an archer you're actually probably better off being a ranger, you definitely want to take a look at the ranger spells, many make your archery incredible. Consider perhaps taking up arcane archer or one of the very many other archery classes (order of the bow initiate is great if you have access to Complete Warrior, and I personally love the scout from Complete Adventurer). If your DM won't allow you to use complete books I highly suggest you petition him to allow it. Especially Complete Warrior and Complete Adventurer, they make non-spellcasters a much more potent choice once you get into the mid-high level range (at which point the only purpose of a fighter becomes protecting the spellcasters and they can duplicate almost any skill or class feature with spells [that is to say they can use something that workks just as well, maybe not in the same way, consider the Knock spell]). Complete adventurer has some VERY good arrow-specialty spells for the archer ranger as well. |
| lost_archer08-27-05, 03:44 AM | as i have looked into that proticler guide. i dont like all of the feats. I want something that has never been seen before. I dont like going by guides i like to go off the map. so anything that any one else could come up with for feats would be a great help. lost_archer |

An archer is a simple fighter, that's it, who you can boost a lot by just using the core rules... (Since you have 16 str. don't forget to make your bow mighty, so that you can add str to dmg). Making a spectacular archer would require you to take on some prestige classes, like arcane archer, deepwood sniper etc. |
| lost_archer09-02-05, 03:05 AM | now where would i find the deepwood archer that sounds intrasting Lost Arhcer |
