First, let me say that any of my players had best avoid this thread.

Okay, the basic character concept is a far-traveling warrior. He's a Broken Cog (homebrew race) that has seen all sorts of far-off lands and has learned a little of everything from every culture. When he fights, he combines a variety of exotic styles to bring down his foes.

Thing is, I don't know how to achieve such an effect. I was thinking of combining levels in Samurai/Psi-Warrior/Knight/Warblade, but I don't know if this would really achieve an effective and exotic feel.

I'm looking for flavor represented by mechanics, so I ask the CharDev boards for help.

Any good tips out there?

Well, with the possibility of sounding like a un-creative jerk, You could just describe his combat style exotically.

Though, if you have him use special attack options, you can get a little interesting.
Describe a successful trip as: His blade shoots down toward your leg, then zags toward your gut, as you twist out of the way, he kicks your lead foot out from under you, and slams you with his shoulder/chest, dropping you to the ground.

One idea is if there are multiple charcters in melee within, describe his actions as using the nearness of his foes, i.e pushing a foot against one guy in order to turn and attack a foe who was supposedly behind him.

It might also help to know what Broken Cogs look/act like.

Oops, I forgot to post a link to them. My homebrew stuff is in my sig, but here's a direct link to the Broken Cog (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?p=10562803#post10562803).

I considered just describing his attack rolls in an 'exotic' fashion, but that wouldn't really set him apart. I could do "He braces his katana against your attack, and then strikes out with a fencer's grace. Having succeeded, he whips around with barbaric savagery and deals out a deadly blow."

All good and well, but I'm a fan of game effects to represent a character concept and traits.

Maybe it would help to offer some of his history. He's a far-traveling warrior. He's been into the desert, off in the orient, in the heart of tribal lands, through european-style armies, ect. He's the warrior that's been everywhere, and everywhere he went, he learned something new.

Basically, that's his technique. A never-ending slew of multi-cultural tricks up his mechanized sleeve. Something like Einhander followed by Kiai Shout, and then unleashing a raging power attack. Not an optimized combo, but one that looks multi-cultural.
