| Sickseelah08-27-07, 01:07 AM | I am trying to use the Dark speech feat to enable the usage of Hivemind but i am encountering a problem with my DM. Under the requirements for Dark Speech (first page intro of vile feats) it says the following: "Vile feats are granted to characters at the behest of a powerful evil agency - a god, a demon, or something similar...Some DM's may also want to require a character who seeks a vile feat to perform a special ritual or make an actual bargain with a powerful creature of evil." Now in reading this site, I see people stating that it's possible to accomplish the hivemind by 3rd level, that's all great but how do you bypass the fact that you need to have that feat granted to you by a powerful evil let alone by 3rd level? Do any of you guys have any suggestions in regards to this matter? I'm stumped because obviously a 3rd lvl character has no means to summon a demon lord, nor does he have enough gold to get someone to do the summoning ritual for him, nor is my character powerful enough to offer anything of real value to a demon lord. I hope you guys can help me out, thanks. |

Level 3 just makes it easier. (Remember that you can take 10 on Knowledge checks, so you only need a +15, and you only need it once.) Note that this will not work for a character who is already Chaotic Evil, and completing the bargain will shift your alignment one step toward Chaotic, or one step toward Evil if you're already Chaotic. |

Its not required that you do it, only that you make a bargain. Also even a minor creature like an imp can relay a message to more powerful ones. You may have to make greater sacrifices for them to take notice of you if you have little personal power though. |
