| DaemonSaDiavlo01-04-07, 09:50 PM | Well my charecter is a first level ranger. Tarquinn De Rylt str 14 dex 16 con 12 int 12 wis 12 cha 12 The backround I have so far starts with his birth to a mother he will never meet. His father was a noble from Cormyr, who on campaign had produced him. His father took him in, as it was the honoralbe thing to do. So Quinn, short for tarquinn, was raised as a bastard, an eternal display of the actions his married father did. He has to older half brother's, Aaron who is two years older and Khardheen who is 7 years older. His life alternated depending on when and if his father was around. When he was the people of the house treated him like a legitamite son. Yet the moment he left, which was quite often, the people of the house treated him in a most despicable manner. His father's, Falton, wife was especially mean towards him. As he grew he found no friends in an around his household. He was differant than the rest of them, he knew that. At first he thought it was becasue of his lack of a mother, but more and more he realized he was just differant. He was clumsy, dull, un attenitive, and an all around failure. But his father never stopped loving him. As he reached 11, he finnaly found a friend, in his brother Aaron. Aaron was the exact opposite of Quinn, gifted in everything that he did, even when he wasn't tring. Yet Quinn looked up to him, and the usuallt emotianally distant Aaron took to hanging around Quinn. They became nigh unseperable. When Quinn was 14, Aaron 16, they made friends with a local willage girl, Lauralana, a daughter of a wealthey merchant. Quinn instantly fell for her, she was a year older than him (15). Soon he Aaron and her spent all of thier time together, doing everything, evening training together. When Quinn turned 18, his father Falton died. He was wounded no the battlefield, and never recovered. Quinn and his family rushed to see him, each in turn saying goodbye as he slipped away. The last person to see him was Quinn, eyes filled with tears. His father said two things to him that day, though the state Falonar was in was disputible. The first was this "Quinn, live freely, follow what your own path and show your greatness that i know lies within you." he then delivered his second, misty eyed and dying. "Quinn, forgive me for not being a better father, forgive your mother , and forgive Aaron......" and thus he died. The family reurned and settled the buisness of Falton's estate. Khardheen, now 25 was the heir to the house. He moved the location of the estated to a larger city closer to the capital. Aaron and Quinn stayed behind, while Falonar's wife remarried and moved on. The house fell under disrepair, with no one to maintain it. Soon came the day when Quinn awoke to smoke. The house was ablaze. Quinn rushed, grabing what he could of what his father left him. As he exited the house, he saw a figure in the distance. It was Aaron. Quinn ran towards his brother, wondering how the fire started. Quinn then noticed the thin piece of wood in Aaron's hands. A wand. One that Quinn had seen Aaron craft, one that laucnhed fireball's of the greatest magnitude. The fire had laready drawn the attention of the nearby town. Quinn then noticed another figure , moving towards Aaron. It was Lauralana. Sh carried a pack, and was dressed in her what appeared to be all new leather and all around adventuring gear. He had helped her pick it out. It all clicked then. Aaron was leaving. He begged him to stay, but Aaron wouldn't acknowledge him, he begged to be allowed to follow, and again silence. Finally he turend to Laura and proclaimed his love towards her. She told them they were friends nothing more, that she loved Aaron. Crushed Quinn sat there as they left, not moving, not caring. Eventually he got up, and salvaged what he could from the flames. He ran than, as fast and as far as he could. He spent the next few years doing assorted jobs, training. His only goal now was to find his place in life. He gave up on false dreams his father had ignited in him. He gave up on friends and on lover's. He found solace only in work and training. At night he was haunted by dreams of his past, of the look in his father's eyes when he died. The smell of Laura, Aaron's knowing eye's. His travel's took him to waterdeep, and that is where the campaign begins. The other two player's are both an moon elf rogue and a wood elf fighter. I was wondering on how to RP him, should i go with the troubled cliche ranger, or something differant? |
