| wanderer379107-18-07, 09:50 AM | I usually like to find a happy medium between "character power" and story. By this, I mean I would never create a character with 10 classes just to cherry pick the most useful features of the classes. My DM has no problem with heavy multiclassing, just so long as there is a story reason for it. This leads to my dilemma. I love the idea of a Rogue/Horizon Walker/Shadowlord of Telflammar for a sneaky, shadowy character. My DM has approved additional planes (Shadow - grants Shadowdancer-like HiPS). This helps with my story since I can probably take all 10 levels in Horizon Walker. Horizon Walkers are supposed to be consumed by wanderlust, always looking for their next big adventure. Shadowlords, on the other hand, are described as being mostly evil and operate around the city of Telflammar (we are in FR). Does anyone see a way of developing a good reason (story-wise) for these two classes to come together. I don't see him as an evil guy, which further complicates the situation. I was thinking of either: 1) giving him the Dark template (and the +1LA -- as penance) and saying he was lost on the Plane of Shadow for a while (and that is how he got the Shadowlord abilities without being a criminal lord) 2) making him a character who is looking for something (ala the Seeker of the Misty Isle) -- I just can't use that because I won't have divine spells 3) making him a follower of Shaundakul (God of Wanderers and enemy of Shar) and have him be charged with infiltrating the Shadowlords or something Any advice/insight would be much appreciated. |

To get that template all you need to do is either worship Mask and have his church give you the template or pay the church of Mask to do it for you. |
