| Kazzaroth Pan'theon06-26-06, 10:54 AM | At moment in Forgotten Realms campaing setting I am gaming whit in solo campaing a human Alu-Fiend who haves Spellfire Wielder feat and is Human Paragon 1/Warlock 5. She at moment haves Singing Sword (Magic of Faerun) as item familiar and wondrous figurine which summons a 5 HD panther. After some arguement DM refused allow the Spellfire Channeler PrC not give any advanced spellcasting progression to Warlock so I wonder; Should I focus max my Human paragon levels and then warlock levels and then start take levels in the PrC (I thinked do that after gaining 15 char level and ECL and XP wise I am 20lvl char) or should I take Spellfire Channeler levels earlier? As intresting dipit in background wise my char has been raised in Abyss for last seventeen years (17 age now) and is Fearless thanks a feat and she is searching for her mother (whom she does not know IC wise who it is expect in looks wise is similar to her and she is no one other than Larael Blackstaff and she birthed her during time when she was mad thanks the magicall crown and she is not aware of my char's exchistance yet). |

There are a few things I have to point out. 1) I wouldn't let you take human paragon levels, since you are not really human - can half-elves take human paragon? Can tieflings? If not, why should half-fiends? 2) If Laeral of the North was your mother, then you are not an Alu-fiend, you are some other sort of Cambion (Alu-fiends are strictly the daughters of succubi - female, having an incubus father is different). 3) Whoever your mother was, she would be well aware of your character's existance. It is very difficult to give birth and not notice. She might not know who and where you are but she will know of her daughter. As for your question, I'd say sticking to warlock is best - warlock/spellfire channeler overlaps, the abilities do similar things and don't stack. Giving the same character both works against you in the long run. |

If not, why should half-fiends? Half-Elves can indeed take human paragon levels: Divided Ancestry (Ex) Unlike other racial paragons, half-elves can take levels in more than one racial paragon class. After gaining at least one level as a half-elf paragon, a character can take either elf paragon levels or human paragon levels (but not both). |

Giving the same character both works against you in the long run. Well, DM allowed me to be Alu-fiend despite she did read the description of the tempalte. Perhaps she thinked it does not matter which way I ahve born so long one of my parents is incubus or succubus *shrugs*. Besides despite our both rich sources we did nto have any stats for Cambion so we could had used Alu-fiend anyway descripe the ancestory. What comes to mother, she was soon wretched the crown before she sended my char away into abyss for severall years and terms to the dmeon who was forced to take care of my char via powerfull binding spell were simple that it takes care until the child is fully grown or until Larael herself comes get the child. This case explanation why Larael had not comed get her daughter back was because she suffered amnesia or haves very smudgy memory of her time while she was mad. She barely remembered her other daughter (which she birthed in same period) which is at moment holded up at Evermeet in safety and she had likely mixed up my char and other daughter in her memories. Anycase thanks for the tip for sticking into warlock levels, any other tips for the build is appreciated :). I toughted take Scribe Scroll in same level when I learn 12lvl warlock ability to be able produce any spell into a spell scroll which I use via UMD skill. |
