Hail, all, I return again with a plea for advice. I just picked up Complete Divine (it OWNS, for the record), and have decided to add religion to my druid's personality. I need some help with this one, for starters in choosing a god/goddess, and how he might worship.

Character Background-Aust-Elf Druid

Youth- Aust was born to an Elven parents in a Druidic tribe. He learned from his grandmother to seek the beauty in all of nature, and to look for the deeper meaning behind what at first appears to be nothing more than nature’s ferocity. When he came of age, he was put to the tests on the first solstice, as was the custom. He survived, along with most of the others. His training began not long after, and he made friends with the other druids-in-training.

Adolescence- Aust's early years were fairly easy. Along with his duties to the tribe, Aust continued to train as a druid, and he met his animal companion on a hike in the woods. The wolf pup he found was badly injured, and Aust brought the creature back to his village and nursed it back to health. Once it had fully recovered, Aust named the wolf his animal companion.

Notable Events- Aust had been raised in the firm belief that the druids were the guardians of nature, keepers of her lore, and final bastion of defense against those beings who might try to harm her. Aust believed that, as keepers of nature’s lore, druids were to try to help others understand why nature must be protected. Aust accepted all of these duties, and eventually decided that he could better serve nature by traveling the world, learning about all that nature held, and educating others about why nature must be protected.

Recent- Aust explained his decision to leave his home to the elders of his village, as well as his family and friends. They made him promise to return at least once per year, for the summer solstice, so that he could give his blessing to the younglings about to undergo the tests, and receive the forest’s blessing.

Dreams and Aspirations- Aust wishes to see as much of nature as he can, and educate others about nature as best he can, before he dies. He also constantly seeks to bring justice to those he believes to be harming nature, either through their actions, or by their very existence. In the case of the former, Aust will try to teach the offending party how they are harming nature and why they must stop. He will only use violence when he must. In the case of the latter, Aust sees only one course: the offending party must be destroyed.

Fears and nightmares- Aust fears the destruction of his home, and the loss of his friends and family. He always returns for the solstice, and tries to return to check up on his home when he is in the neighborhood.

Personality- Aust is a very kind and caring soul, especially towards animals. He always carries a pouch on his belt filled with scraps of meat, crumbs, and bones, as well as other treats for his animal friends. Aust dislikes fighting animals, and always tries to find a peaceful, or at least non-lethal, solution to animal based problems. He is willing to fight against other creatures, but Aust will never kill an animal, except for food. Aust hunts things that harm nature such as undead or aberrations, seeking their destruction. He also considers himself an arbiter of nature's law, and believes he has the authority to pass judgment on those who break that law.
Oh yes, and thanks in advance.

Worship a nature god/goddess obviously
He worships not with prayers but by planting saplings, making gardens, watering plants, sowing seeds, protecting ancient trees, caring for and protecting wounded/in-trouble animals etc [practical prayer which nature gods are likely to greatly approve]

The nature god thing is fairly obvious. When I said, "What god/goddess," I had meant something more specific than just a generalization on nature gods. Pretty much a toss up between Ehlonna and Obad-Hai. Additionally, when I said, "How would he worship," I had more been looking for prayer ideas, not practicalities. That and the general question of, "Should he worship a god(dess) at all, or should he just continue looking for that spiritual transcendance and union with nature?"

You can ask yourself what kind of a religion he grew up with.

Or you could take the approach I like to call "Small Gods". This has a few similarities with japanese mythology where there where many many smaller gods living in the world. A river could have its own god, a particular forest, mountain and even man-made things would have their own gods.

Okay, see, now you sound like "Spirited Away". Not that's necessarily a bad thing, as I liked the movie, even if it was a bit wierd. I've pretty much limited it to between Ehlonna and Obad-Hai, but I'm not sure which one. Whichever one he worships, he'll have gotten from the tribe that was mentioned in his background. Also, sorry if I'm coming off as slightly rude. I'm depriving myself of sleep for no good reason other than to be able to be the first one up in the morning.

EDIT: New idea. I've decided he'll worship Obad-Hai, but can I please get some help with figuring out prayers he can offer? Thanks.

Well, it would have helped if you were more specific in the original post
Here are some possible prayers

1] Thanks, obad-hai for keeping the land green and clean
2] Mighty obad-hai, Let this sapling grow into a mighty oak tree
3] Oh, green lord, Let there be serenity and peace in the wildlands
4] Avenger of nature, Let the defilers of nature be returned to the earth
5] Kind obad-hai, Let there be Fresh air, food and water for every living creature

You fail to mention an alignment, but I would assume Lawful neutral?
