In our next campaign, I will be playing an Neutral Good Aasimar 8th level Sorcerer, and my DM told me that I can have the effects of the Extra Spell (3rd level) feat if I know a good way to incorporate it in to my character's background.

The problem is, I have no idea how to incorporate it. I was thinking about (Limited) Wish, like the Simbul did with her level 9 spells, but well... her Sorcerer caster level is 22, while I'm only 8. Not very realtistic, is it?

Anyone can help me out here?

you're an aasimar...i would have thought it simple...as your powers of the arcane became more developed, and your good deeds became more numerous, your celestial/divine ancestor gave you the GIFT of being able to use an extra spell or *two*...hehe

Hehe, I like it. Especially that last part ;). I wonder what my DM would say :x.

I might relate it directly to my patron deity (Mystra - my PC has a birthmark in the shape of Mystra's symbol). The PC does not know who his family (the father is unknown, mother died while giving birth to the PC), and I don't know if 'regular' celestial beings such as Planetars and Devas can grant such powers.

Anyway, thanks for the nudge in this direction. I'm sure I can make a nice story out of it :).

Erm... I'm not an actual descendant of Mystra... that's going to be pretty damn hard when you consider the only 'children' Mystra has are the Seven Sisters and none of those have any children themselves.

Also, you don't have to be a desendant of Mystra to carry a birthmark as her holy symbol.

Those descended from a celestial minion of a Faerūnian deity often carry a birthmark in the shape of the deity’s holy symbol or some other mark significant to that faith.

All in all, that post was pretty uncalled for. Thanks and way to go on those preassumptions .
