| CyperionTheShadeBlade06-23-06, 03:59 AM | I am playing an Vampire Aquatic elf Spellstiched Half satyr evoveled undead Expaladin 5 Rogue 2 (we are at th moment playing by Cr Instead of Ecl :D ) and to be Blackguard, and i was wondering how i should play him, What his motives should be,his personal relationships, his alignment, and the like and i was hoping you guys could give me a bit of advice. And i woulnd't mind if you could give me an advice on how to get a peacefull meting with an evil outsider. |
| Stormbrand06-23-06, 04:41 PM | First of all, who let you have so many templates? Can we refer to your character for short as the Ubermunchkin? :D How did you play him pre-undead? Focus on those points and then twist them if he is a vampire. Meeting the evil outsider is the easy part. Use contacts. You WILL have contacts. Because; 1) The spellstitched template is gained by having a necromancer (cleric or mage) use mystic runes to give you powers. If he did this for you then he had to know you are undead - use that spellcaster to introduce you. 2) The evolved template requires 100+ years of unlife or exposure to some force far beyond the means of a 7th level character. Anyway, go speak to an evil cleric, agree to convert to his faith if he casts Planar Ally for you and summons the demon. If you tell the priest you want to become a blackguard, he gets the prestige of a new champion for his god if he accomodates you. Simple as. Motives, relationships and alignment. The half-satyr part is the one that ruins any personality prospects, if you took away that template I could come up with some ideas (Aquatic elf vampire I can work with, spellstitched can fit in with whatever concept). Agreed? |
| CyperionTheShadeBlade06-24-06, 02:52 PM | The only problem is that the Spellcaster that made him spellstiched died from old age more than 50 years ago, and he belonged to the church of Pelor, as did my character until resently, even after being turned vampire (Helm of opposite alignments can make som pretty damn weird results :D ) and beside his party (which until resently also belonged to the good side and is just as much munchkin) he has practically no contacts that do not wish to drive a wooden stake through his heart. and in the country that we are currently adventuring in he has made himself an enemy of practically every evil force that he has encountered. Thanx for the advice on how to play him, by the way. The Half Satyr part, comes from a weird family relationship(and the fact that we have made some wild powergaming) |
| Jedipilot2406-24-06, 04:33 PM | So you're saying that your character has somehow managed to **** off the forces of both good and evil? Wow. What did you do? |
| CyperionTheShadeBlade06-25-06, 02:41 AM | Do you guys think that a scroll of some kind could be used. |
| Fithero06-25-06, 04:43 AM | Do you guys think that a scroll of some kind could be used. You gotta be more specific mate, whats that comment in relation to? As for your character, look at how the templates would effect the origional character. Spellstitched and evolved undead are pretty much nothing to worry about, they just improve apon the vampire template. Which in itself, takes away the aquatic elf's greatest weakness, its inability to stay on land for any meaningfull length of time. (Undead means no con... the aquatic elf could stay on land equal to X number of hours times their con score... problem solved). As for the satyr template... umm... their would have to be a reason for the character having that... perhaps a full blooded satyr lured your characters mother out of the water and seduced her or whatever. Its kinda an odd concept since the satyr has cloved feet... which dont really help much in the swimming department, and im sure the horns wont be much help either. As for the contact with the outsider, perhaps you found a great fiend that had been bound to the material plane and trapped here for decades. You freed it and it agreed not to kill you. OR perhaps you did a stint in the blood war, or you came across a fiend that was wandering the material plane and swore allegiance. Tons of options. Later |
| Stormbrand06-25-06, 02:27 PM | he has practically no contacts that do not wish to drive a wooden stake through his heart. and in the country that we are currently adventuring in he has made himself an enemy of practically every evil force that he has encountered. They KNOW you are vampire. That was a mistake. If you pass for mortal and keep your nature secret then people don't know how to deal with you. DR 10 is so useful when nobody knows how to bypass it. Wear heavy armour and no one will notice your fast healing during combat (if you hit someone in plate armour you get your blade in the joint between two plates, you see blood come out of the joints but you don't see the wound...) My advice. Leave the country. Or, if DM wont let you, find an evil cleric that still does want to kill you, either use Domination or Create Spawn to gain control of him. Then have him infiltrate his own cult in the pretense of being the one manipulating you (so they think you are his pawn when he is in fact your pawn). It will take patience, but gains you allies over the long term. If they think they control you, then they should be willing to *use* you for *their* purposes (and be right where you want them). For personality, avoid race for the moment. You are a warped reflection of a paladin of Pelor. Pelor represents Light, Healing, hatred of undead. Invert that. So your vampire would have a malicious side with the living - think of it as your relationship as that between the cat and the mouse it has recently captured and has begun merrily tormenting. Perhaps you hate the living in another context as well, but think of some way to roleplay hating living beings. Maybe you are ok with most creatures but despise your own race. If you ever grow fond of a living thing you will make it one of your servator vampires - they can be friends if you spawn them, but they are tools and cattle otherwise. Divide people up between those you can accept and those you can't. Oh yes. You can bite the cleric, then make the undead cleric summon a fiend for you. Inverted healing would perhaps be a fixation with sickness and poison. This fixation might mean that you always look for chances to use poison: it becomes your favourite tool. Poison your blade before nearly every fight. Try to think of undead as allies and mortals as potential enemies. Research the gods since they are defined by themes - find evil gods and read on their personalities, you would be driven by your dark nature and the evil gods are personifications of that evil nature. I don't think you realise the worth to evil cults of converting a former paladin to darkness. If you have upset them in the past then they would be all the more eager to corrupt you to their will. Oh, and spawn. Having controlled vampires to serve you is an excellent power, espescially because THEY can have vampires serving them. You could run a thieves guild by turning gang leaders into vampires and having them control gangs for you and organising it better as you gain more levels. Now you know why never to let me play a vampire blackguard :D |

| CyperionTheShadeBlade06-26-06, 03:41 AM | This is great stuff! Thanx, i think that i can use this character Good enough now :D . And great advice on the Fiend thing. The part with a an thieves guild does have potential :schemes: |
| Stormbrand06-28-06, 12:08 PM | Glad to help. I only wish my DMs gave me chance to use this kind of thing. And Cyperion, if you get any more ideas post me on the aasimar blackguard thread, I'm still working on that. |
