| Gastrocnemius07-06-05, 02:43 AM | Hi ! I need some help with my role-play. I'm playing a dwarven Paladin with one level in cleric. At the moment is he 7 level. His deity is Clangeddin Silverbeard. The reason for the Cleric level is, that he started his career as Cleric but became a holy warrior (paladin) afterwards. When he become level 9 will I go for the prestige class: Divine champion as he's become more near his deity. For my level 9 feat will I take Leadership and here is my role-play problem. I have never seen any have a Cohort and need some help how to play him, the relationship between my main character at his cohort and the rest of the group. Is going to be a dwarven cleric with the same deity. Maybe a form of trainee or something. But have your any suggestions how to role-play this ? |

Maybe you see this fellow as someone who was like you when you were young and want to guide them to be the best servant of your god that they can be. On the flip side maybe your follower tries too hard to please you and makes mistakes. |

| MSW08-02-05, 04:07 PM | Make him the son of a higher ranking church official, who's tasked you with watching out for "junior" while pacifying his son's need to get out in the world and adventure. That way, you have some real, in character reasons for not wanting to see "junior" get harmed... possibly an even tighter bond then with the rest of the party. It also makes the relationship dynamic a little different from the standard master/student one... more like big brother, little (pesky) brother who wants to tag along with you and your friends and daddy says you have to bring him along. Also give him some unique personal quirks and a distinctly different voice and/or accent then your normal character. That will help to make your PC and your cohort stand out from each other for the other players and DM. And don't min/max the character! Take max ranks in Knowledge(flora) just because he likes flowers (no other reason.) Weaknesses are fun to role play too. |
