| Ed-Zero03-02-06, 04:32 PM | Hi everyone, I'm in a group at the moment who recently acquired a cleric (a pc died and made a new char :D) and would like to see any suggestions about ways to role play the differences between divine power and arcane power (ie: do I simply say that while he gets his godly power, I rip it from the universe around me bending it to do my will?). I'd like to get more in depth with the character and I want to see how things would progress if a wizard talked to a commoner/cleric or someone like an ogre (ex: someone who would normally know completely nothing about magic). Thanks in advance |

Arcane is for smarts and divine is for really good- or evil-hearted people, arcane is more neutral, coexisting with all alignments at once to further their understanding of the arcane arts divine is being given spells and arcane is taking them. A divine spellcaster will save people and an arcane spellcaster will see what happens if a certain spell is cast on him. arcanes are usually elves or gnomes, divines are more like dwarves and righteous humans |

Through force of will and complex technique I bend it's latent power to do my bidding. This is different to clerics and other divine casters who must beg the power from greater minds than thier own. It is my mind that alters the very fabric of our world, not some self absorbed deity." It may come across as a bit pompass or egotistical but why wouldn't it be. Wizards always feel that thier way is always superior, it's in the job descrition. |

All divine magic's are gifts from god and signs that he is fulfilling his rights path. The more power he adulates the closer he is to god. |

If you want to be really strange then play him as a brillent but absent minded or just really weird person. Or give him a strange accent. That is always fun. |
