I've decided to play a Silver Dragon Wyrmling as my PC. My question is how exactly would a wyrmling interact with the other PCs and NPCs? In-game, my wrymling is only 5 years old but has higher Int than everyone else in the party save the wizard. Any Dragon RPers out there could give me some suggestions? |

He will take advantage of his superior intelligence to make fun of the others. Besides, a lack of maturity is in order. And he wont take his adult companions' moral advice seriously. Is not evil (he's metallic, after all) but probably mischievous, yes. LIke a dragonlance kender, if you know what I'm talking. And, since he is a dragon, I suppose he could have a lot of confidence in himself, to the point of cockiness. And an interest in shiny things and other treasure. If he is an orphan or otherwise has lost his parents, he will feel bad about it. Even if he never got to know them, company of human is not the same as the company of your own kin. Granted, dragons are solitary creatures, but a kid is a kid, and it needs its parents. Hope it helped. |

More to the point, he knows that, in time, he will be far stronger than everyone else too. Also, think how a child views right and wrong - it's a very simplistic, black-and-white viewpoint thats often a bit self-centered. Combine that with a silver dragon's natural disposition and you get something very intolerant of people stealing or hurting others. |

Or maybe a shy introvert who, in having such differences is alienated from his surrounding culture, perhaps taking on a “clocked superhero” type role (helping from the shadows) or maybe even have a fiend latch onto him and try to tempt/twist him to evil…………….actually that applies to the first option as well :) |

Like any roleplaying, it is sometimes useful to pick a few traits, latch onto them, and then use that as the basis for something more "in-depth". Here are the traits that our own silver dragon used: A fanatisism for treasure and gems - particularly gems. If the party made a haul of treasure, the dragon would be into it really quickly and will have picked out all the gems. Gem gloating. The dragon kept a little casket with all her gems. Every night, as wizards were saying that they were going to be studying their spells, etc., the dragon would say that she was going to count/check/admire/play-with her gem collection. Sulking. If the silver dragon didn't get her own way, she would sulk. This usually meant up in the rafters of the building, on the roof, or somewhere high-up (but not in trees!). It was never in a corner or down low, but always somewhere lofty. And this dragon sulked a fair amount. The dragon at times seemed not to notice the existance of the rest of the group. Sometimes everyone would be arguing about "what next", and the dragon would just go and do it without asking or even telling the others. Inability to sell treasure. As the dragon loved treasure so much, she'd never sell it. There'd be no profit, and she kept it just for its "shiny things" value, rather than for any practical purpose. Language. In our campaign, we used different real-world lanuages to represent the fanatasy languages in the world-setting (which was one of our own devising). As a result the lass playing this dragon character would often quote in "Draconisch" various things. Well, that's a brief list with what I can think of at the moment. I hope that helps. |
| Toptomcat09-23-03, 06:12 PM | Have the dragon keep enough of the treasure they accumulate to sleep on a "bed" of gold coins, jewels, and other valuable things. |
| Zardnaar09-24-03, 04:50 AM | How about an overgrown inquisitive intelligent kitten- who can breath fire. |
| CaffeineGenasi09-24-03, 05:33 AM | I had pictured a puppy more than a kitten. But kitten is good. You might have the little dragon latch on to one party menber as a "best bud" and tag along after him, copy him, pester 24/7, that kind of thing. Paladins and barbarians are great for this. |
