Human Cleric Archer Cohort who worships Elven Pantheon in Faerun [Archive] - Wizards Community

11-22-04, 08:33 AM I think the title says it all. My previous cohort got blasted into itsy-bitsy pieces and my DM has made it nearly impossible to bring someone back from the dead. Therefore I must make a new cohort, and in the glory of min/maxing to the extreme I have made a human Cleric 5, Divine Disciple 5,then contemplative 10 that will focus on archery (I have worked it out so he can cast a fourth level domain spell at fifth level, thus meeting prerequisites to DiD). The big problem is he has to worship Shevarash (an elven deity) to get everything I want. Our campaign is about stopping the Shades from taking over the weave. They have gained the ability to use the shadow weave without Shars permission and are trying to do the same with the normal weave. Any good ideas why this guy will want to join up with a gnomish bard and his rag-tag group of adventurers (our characters don't really like each other).

So to quit rambeling I'll ask my questions:
Why is a human worshipping Shevarash?
Why is he willing to work for a gnome trying to stop the Shades?

Any help would be appreciated and rewarded. Rewarded you say, thats right. I will pm you a link to the coolest toy you can print off and bring to the game table to impress your friends. (actually it's only kind of cool, but if you have any kind of dragon familiar then it is really fun).

Okay, as to why he wants to stop the shades:
--Past problems, perhaps had family killed as a result
--His own ideas (perhaps he's a crusading idealist, and the cause strikes his fancy)

Why he might worship an elven god:
--Orphan or unwanted child raised by elves
--Atheist or nominal worshipper of a human god, then had some great favor done him (perhaps life-saving) by a cleric of the elven god
--Believes in the things the elven god stands for

11-23-04, 10:53 PM Part of Shevarash's portfolio is hatred of the Drow. Does the character have a particular hatred of Drow, and decided to do something to help stop them? I think any cleric of Shevarash would happily take someone of any race under his or her wing who's devoted to help them fight the Drow.

And as for why he'd work on this: does he suspect Drow involvement somehow?
