Sardis grew up like many children on fairy tales and bedtime stories. But for him, unfortunately, they always seemed to be a little bit more real. Prone to night terrors and dark dreams, he was a very sullen and skittish child. As he got older, though, the concept of the bogey-man and monsters under the bed stuck with him, though were passed off by his parents as having an overactive imagination. As the years passed, his nightmares stayed with him, though they had changed. Rather than terrifying him, they seemed to draw him in. There was a re-occuring figure seemingly make of mist and shadow that would speak to him of secrets and promises of strange power. Not being popular, the thought of power intrigued the young man, for he had always been seeking for something to make others stand in awe of him. Then one night, while in the throes of his nightly repose, the mysterious figure revealed to him the truth. Malignant blood flowed within Sardis' veins, granting him powers beyond those which he had ever dreamed. The figure, known only to Sardis as the Lord of Nightmares, became the man's surrigate (sp) father, teaching him how to wield his abilities while in the dream lands. Soon he learned to manifest this knowledge while awake, and was driven from his village, never to return. Now, Sardis has attained potency with his abilities (warlock 11), and has been granted the aid of a shadowy Imp named Graz'Zul. In honor of his past and the one who trained him, Sardis has dedicated himself to becoming that which terrified him as a child: one of the things that go bump in the night. Invocations Known: Frightful Blast Devil's Sight Miasmic Cloud Spider Walk Walk Unseen Hungry Darkness Flee The Scene Chilling Tentacles He has one extra Least Invocation due to taking the Extra Invocation Feat. Please let me know what you think of this. |
