Ok I need some ideas on an NPC to hunt spell casters.

My first idea was a society from the shadows that watches spell casters to see if they use thier craft with honor and hunt down those that don't. This society can use spells and warn other casters to be careful with the craft and not misuse their powers.

The second idea was a group completely against spell casting and doesn't allow its use at all. They would warn casters never again to use their powers or face death.

The idea is that in my game the prince will soon be taken over by a demon and he will out law spell casting. He will use bothe groups to take out casters and then use the second group to take out the first.

So how do you build a spell caster hunter without the NPC useing magic. Any suggestions would be helpful. The group will have mid level magic items availible if you think they would use them.

Well the best wizard-hunter ia have made was Drow-rogue8/asasinXwith high stats (str-14,dex-18,con-14,int-13,wis-18,cha-15) and proper equipment (intelligent longsword- "Wizard's Bane"):smirk:

High-level monks have spell resistance.

If they intend to keep the spellcasters alive, bring Dimensional Shackles.

You should also check out the PrC Occult Slayer from the Complete Warrior. It looks pretty descent for what your talking about. At least the first couple of levels.

Hmm... I wonder if "Rogue Monk" would be feasible. It could certainly be an interesting combination from a role-playing point of view.

Alternatively, go for Paladin. Make the distinction between Divine Magic (okay) and Arcane Maginc (pure evil). It depends on how picky you are about what consistutes a spell caster.

Make a NPC party of just Sorcerers, all of them with Dispel Magic.

Well, you can take thye Occult Slayer from Complete Warrior, that is, if you like new stuff in your game and if you have the actual book. He'll be perfect.

Or you can make a organization that believes that Magic should only be used by deities, not mortals. Assasins, Monks with SR, or even the plain Fighters would work fine.

Maybe they would have a new feat...Maybe one that gives them +x to saves against spells, or maybe +x to saves against a specific school of magic?
