I was thinking of making a human cleric (for the extra feat and skills), and wanted input on the character idea. I think I will have him be from some region of the FR (just got the book, actually). He will be the exact stereotype of a cleric..... will go to any extent to kill the undead. I will add a quirk to him like he has a cart with a mule or whatever. He will have a vast collection of weapons and such, and will keep them handy in the cart, picking whatever he needs before he does the job (assuming he has proper info to ready himself right). The mule he will have had since some time ago, and if it were ever to die, he would have a nervous breakdown. When the mule goes down, he uses anything at his disposal to kill the whatever did it, then heal the mule instantly. The cart will also give him a better way to transport goods from a tomb. He could also have a great attraction to women, any women. Thoughts on this PC would be great........

The undead-hating thing points to Kelemvor or Lathander, though Lathander is a pacifist.

Kelemvor really hates the undead, for they are unnatural, and he really thinks that nothing should walk around after it has died.

Lathander, a pacifist?

I never really pictured him like that... Of course, like most good gods, he avoids conflicts with other good gods...

But I read of him depicted Lathander as a very proactive god... The Dawn Cataclysm, the soon to come Deliverance, and his tentative to make Beshaba and Tymore one again as Tyche...

Your character fits Lathander better than Kelemvor I thing, as Kel has quite a grim dogma...

But Sune could be a nice twist: destroy the undeads because they are ugly, but place your hair after the jobs done... Plus, it fits your love for the ladies...

Of course, Lathander is a pacifist. The Dawn Cataclysm was a big tragedy, but he did it because he thought he could bring Faerūn peace. He's the deity of renewal and perfectionism, not of war or anything like that. He (or rather his clergy) sponsors athletic contests to prove who's the better, instead of warring with each other.

But good point with Sune! I second that. He could have an obsession with killing the ugly undead, and sowing his seeds wherever he goes (you can also call it fertilizing the fields) would be a virtue in a sunite cleric.

(btw: the cleric stereotype is not the undead slayer, but rather the party healer).

make him always sing as he rides! that would be a fun quirk. OR have him have conversations with his mule(which naturally does not understand)

Why do people think that quality of character can be measured by quantity and intensity of quirks? Quirks are too-often used to conceal a weakness in RP, as a red herring to attempt to distract people from the fact that the character has no depth and is just plain pathetic. After a couple hours, people in the room have gotten past the red herring and will see the lack of character.

that is not true, a quirk can be a sign of creativity that allows someone to roleplay even if the other players are not interacting with him. Whether you like it or not the character mixes in a campaign do not always mesh very well and sometimes roleplaying will not happen a lot between them because of the fact that the kind of characters they are playing would not interact with each other a lot.

Example: We have a party of two half orcs, an air genasi, and a fey'ri. The half orcs mesh together very well always having their funny conversations, now an arrogant feyri would not socialize with those types fo people so he completely ignores them and looks down upon them. The air genasi and feyri look at each other with mutual respect but distrust, thus not a lot of interaction there,so the both have their quirks, to make up for it. Air genasi worships Mystra and hates anything that hurts magic and hunts it down, Feyri is very evil and is constantly trying to mate with sunelves in order to increase their demonic blood(i even made a prestige class for him).
