I'm playing a Wild Elf Druid in a party of a Thief, Fighter and Sorc. My stats are 7, 9, 12, 13, 16, 18. Not bad, but not the best I've ever had either. My problem is I just don't know how to make a non cliche Druid. I love the class and I had a few ideas, but they all revolve using splat books which I can't use. I was sorta thinking of making the character a Horizen Walker, but not sure I can justify giving up the spell progression as the parties only means of healing. I was also thinking of making the character an exiled shamen of her tribe, so focusing more on healing, communing and creating potions with really high ranks in survival and knowledge nature. But like I said, I'm just at a loss trying to make a decent character that isn't too horribly cliched. Once I get the basic idea down for her, I can make a back story and all no problem. It's just making the character which is stumping me now. Any suggestions? |

I'm currently making a Druid, and my friend suggested the idea of making a non-forest Druid, like from a Desert, or the Mountains. Personally, it didn't fit with me, but it might for others. Also, take a look at your feats and skills, they can provide a background (especially things like Craft, Knowledge, Perform and Profession.). Since you're a Druid, try to incorporate your animal companion (assuming you have one) into it. I think that's all... Maybe a Druid who lived in the desert, found out about the rest of the world and set off to explore it, stealing his animal companion from a camel seller. |

Wild, animalistic 'raised by wolves' type who shuns the trappings of civilisation. Sewer-dwelling city druid (dire rat companion? Or an albino gator? Ooze form instaed of elemental?) You're obseesed with a certain type of animal, preferrably something a little out of the ordinary, like insects. Even better, not an animal at all - fungus would be ideal. Mad old hermit who lives in a ditch, smells like a wet badger and has field mice living in his unkempt beard. Moon-worshipper whose powers and personality wax and wane with the phases of the moon. You could dance naked beneath the full moon. That's always fun. Fey-touched druid whose powers stem from association with the 'fair folk' - perhaps you were stolen away and taken to a realm where time flows differently, or maybe you were a changeling child... You used to perform with an animal in a travelling fair, but were eventually convinced that this was cruel, and so you escaped to the wilderness and learned the ways of nature, with your erstwhile partner as your animal companion. Maybe you used to 'wrestle' a trained bear, or perhaps you were an exotic dancer who worked with a python... |

This is one of those doomed to fail characters but on the other hand with the right tone it could give the druid a role they rarely fill, comic relief. Puskara |
