Hello guys. I posted this in another web site and got some interesting solutions and wanted to try it here.

The situation is that I am playing a lvl 7 half-elf NG Druid of Mieliki (or however u spell it, don't have the book with me)who recently realized that he had contracted the lycan. desease (explaining that very wierd night he had a month before. I am not looking for any hints on how to fix the problem or the right spell that could save me. I posted this here because I need help on how to role play this situation.

So far the character has made attemts to find out all he can about this desease and has even gone to the source. She said that I could not resist what was happening and that I am now a superior being and would become very powerfull.

My character trust in his feith and he is dependant on his feith to help him resolve this problem. He understands that lycans are an aberration and is not very happy about his predicament.

I wanted some more ideas on how a NG half-elf druid of mieliki would deal with this situation. Thanks

Well it's not really about what's going on around me that I was trying to get at. What I was trying to get at is. I am a NG druid, very much in favor of nature and the forest way and I've just found out that I have become a wear-boar, an aberration that is against all I beleave.

How should I respond, in Role Playing terms.

I wanted to talk about the fact that even though they are an aberration, they have the same mentality of animals in that they do what they must to survive. Should I judge them if this is true?

Thats the kind of stuff I wanted to get into here.

Thanks.

Hmm, I guess not many people like my theme. I got some really cool ideas at the other web page. Oh well, thanks anyway.

The were-boar is a TN lycanthrope no? But it matters few here, since your character believe that lycanthropy is an aberration. So I think your character should do whatever is possible to get rid of this disease, and the nights of full moon he should shut himself in some jail.

On a metagaming way, you could encounter someone who tell you that it is not all lycanthropes who are evil. You could even pray to Mielikki and come back with this answer.

Depending on if you plan on trying to get rid of the disease or just cope with the changes, you may want to look at the Web Enhancement for Complete Divine. It has a class called a Moon Guardian that deals with a Divine character grappling with this disease and ultimately learning to control what you have become without compromising what you already are. (IE it allows for you to not have your alignment change because you loose control and shift.)

Ultimately, it depends on what direction you take. Are you someone who ultimately will loathe themself because of what is happened and become self destructive or do you see this as a challenge that has been put before you to walk the path less traveled. There really isn't a set Druid of X path of how you deal with this, it is the character inside and how they view a life altering event.

With a bit more info about who your character is and what this person's attitudes towards challenges and change are, I could make some more definate suggestions.

Cheers!

Okkam I am very curious about this class moon guardian that you mentioned. I have the book complete devine, but where can I find more information about this class?

I am attemting to roleplay this situation as a tests to my feith. But my character might see what has happend as fate and a sign that he must take the road less travelled, as you mentioned.

Thank you for your help and all the others who have posted. I would appretiate more info on this class that u mentioned.

It is in a web enhancement for Complete Divine. Take a look at it. I think it is a great concept for a divine oriented character who is grappling with the change.
