I will seduce her! [Archive] - Wizards Community

So, during some random shenanigans the other day, my party’s Shifter Ranger managed to pick up a busty bar fly, with me as wingman. The DM thought we were quite humorous so he has made her a regular NPC member of our group and she will soon become a Bard. He even has a little back-story for her that he just started running with that is kinda neat. She is a disfavored daughter of a higher-up in the Aurum (sp?). Anyway, so she is tagging along with us now.

I am a Dread Necromancer from Karnnath (also posted a few pages back on this board). Being NE, I figured this would be a good chance to flex that alignment. I am starting to ‘seduce’ the NPC to me, away from the Shifter who originally picked her up w/ my help. It isn’t that hard; he spends a lot of time in his own things so I can spend time around the NPC (we aren’t RPing into detail here, so I’m going to presume that’s working well enough).

Assuming things go well I will probably be taking her as my cohort when I get Leadership at level six. As a NE necro, from Karnnath, I am going to try to temp her toward demonology. Karnnath summoned demons during the last war, and I am a member of the Blood of Vol, so getting in-game material shouldn't be to difficult. My question for you all is this: how do you approach someone and say, “Hey, lets summon demons!”, cause that seems a little to forward. Ideas?

The way I see it is that there are 2 ways to do this.

Frist is to be the mysterious person that is capable of doing some pretty facinating things. The combonation of Intrugue and the perception of power are hard things to resist. This might also be a "turn on" for her as he is kind of a rebel of her upbringing.

The second way is blantent display of power. This one is different from above as this is an obvious act of evil, where the other one was more shrowded in mistery. This one is perhaps the more likely to back fire in your face because it might just be "too evil" for her liking.

Reguardless of the method you choose, find out what motivates the NPC and find ways to offer this to her throughout your suduction.

if her father is a high-up in the aurum, and she's disfavored, you may want to start lightly RP-ing the time you spend with her, or at least tell the DM the gist of the conversations you'r having.

talk to her about her past. latch on to any weakness, any shame or guilt she has, and after you've established a strong bond of trust with her, start telling her that she could have the power to show-up her father who snubs her, or whatever else she has negative feelings about.

basically, paint a pretty picture of this power and how she could make all her old wrongs right through this great power. then, when she's fully ready-introduce her to the power. start not with actual making pacts with demons, but through showing her how to command the lesser demons. sort of a "see....it's easy....and though they may be evil, with you in control, you can twist that power however you want" sort of thing. :D

after she's comfortable with that, basically slowly plunge her further and further, until before she knows it, shes making blood-pacts and selling her soul, all for your benefit.

of course, you should always maintain the image of true love and feeling for her, even if you grow tired of her. remember that neutral evil means selfish. selfish does not necessarily mean you only care about yourself, but how things relate to you. if she's your lover, you could actually care very much about her; as long as she's your lover.

 ya know....looking back on what I just wrote, I sound like a pretty evil person! :angelhide

And it was golden! Those are some great suggestions. I'm sure there is a way to dig up a lot of secrets about Eberron's past through negotiation with the demons, and the Aurum are all about uncovering ancient Eberron stuff. That's a great angle to work off of.

By all means, keep the ideas coming guys! Also, the original post with some of my character info in it is here-- Dread Necro, double agent of Karnnath (http://boards1.wizards.com/showthread.php?t=576215) --if that helps anyone come up with more ideas.

say you are summoning the celestial wrath of your (good) deity. no one will know the difference without a spellcraft check, and most people who matter won't even have the skill.

I sound like a pretty evil person!

And you are my hero for it.

I would have your children, but it wouldn't work too well. Maybe I can implant some larvae in your belly or something.

The biggest trick is to get her to think what she is doing is helping her advance in her own goals. I didn't see an alignment for the character, but I'm guessing she is more chaotic than neutral, and not lawful because of her becoming a bard.
All that said, she will have goals when she joins the party (if she is any kind of half-decent NPC, anyway), and it will be your job to say "Hey, let's work together, eh? I know some stuff that you might find useful."
And then start small, teaching her little tidbits of what you know, and periodically throwing out a tiny little evil "joke" to see how she reacts. And then if she is put off say "oh, hey...i've got a bit of a dark sense of humor. forgive me."
Also, in battles, make it a point to watch out for her and make it a point to let her SEE you do it. And make her think that your concern is more for her than yourself.
Now, that doesn't sound very NE, you say? Ah, my point exactly. Working on the premise that NE is inherently "selfish", you will do what it takes to get what you want. Seduction, in many cases, is simply putting on a little act to get someone to do what you want them to do. That is what you are doing, in this instance.
Other things to try are keeping a nice piece of jewelry out of your loot, and giving it to her sometime with the little "this is too nice to be in the hands of that slob [insert dirty tank's name here] hands. i think you should have it." and then make it a point of actually putting it on her. (works easier if its a ring or necklace)
even little things like volunteering to pay for her rooms at inns, buying her food, volunteering to keep watch with her while the rest of the party sleeps to keep her company, all help.
as far as turning her to the evil world, all these things help, so long as your character is doing them for a purely selfish reason, otherwise you run the risk of [shudder] losing the coveted evil alignment we all know and love.
the best way to begin to bring her along to the bad guy side is rationalizing your point of view. As a necromancer, you are likely highly intelligent, and should be able to use complex logic and language to explain away why you felt sacrificing that nymph on an altar of skulls was the "best thing for everyone involved". and plus, if you are uber nice to the NPC, she'd probably think "well...he's not ALL bad..." (which, of course, you are :D ) and will likely listen to what you have to teach her.
also stress that what you are teaching her can be used for both good AND bad purposes, and that, naturally, you are using them for "good" things. and explain just how much summoning a horde of demons to guard a town will cut down on the crime rate. again, you are intelligent; draw her a graph or something that shows your side of the argument. :D
the best, best advice i can give on the topic is know when to push and know when to let up. as mentioned before, finding out her weaknesses and stuff like that is key to working her smoothly. also praise her endlessly when she does something you, as a person of evil alignment, would find pleasing. And if she has doubts about what she did, assure her that she did the best thing.

My treatise on being evil, and getting others to come along for the ride. :schemes:

Buy a cloak of charisma +1 and hope the tank doesn't take Leadership at level 6 as well ;)

If he does, you might have to fight him for her :D

If you win, show mercy; she'll be impressed, and the other player won't hold too much of a grudge (hopefully).

Touch of Idiocy, ray of enfeeblement and touch of fatigue will probly work best if you live that long: i also reccomend mirror image and blur, displacement or others.

IF the tank becomes a problem, rely on the (hopefully) decent amounts of enchantment and illusion magic at your command, as well as any and all necromancy spells that won't actually kill someone.

The point here is to completely embarrass the tank (more difficult to do if the tank is a paladin with the cursed charisma-helped saves  ) with your magic. Confuse him with illusions, weaken him with necromancy, and make him do slightly embarrassing things like sing off-key, or try to kiss another male party member with Enchantments. All the while pointing out how magic trumps might in all cases, which is not 100% true, but she won't know the difference.

Ever seen star wars?

"I have the power to help them... let me show you how"
"What... no right and wrong are entirely... from a point of veiw. They are lying to you to say such things are evil..."
"Look at the wonders you can make for such a small sacrifice... join in the pact mylady"

Etc.

Lol... if you have a deep "dating" or "physical" relationship going that would probly help alot to- shell be more likely to trust you then.
